Not sure if you guys have been keeping tabs on most video games...

Here's one that came out in Japan recently...

Namco X Capcom (Looking at it written in Katakana, I think the "X" is said as "Cross" and not "X". So it's "Namco Cross Capcom")

Anyway...

Check out this stuff I leeched off of IGN (since I'm so lazy).

Namco X Capcom

The game is a Strategy, Turn-Based RPG where you move
units across a map, A La "Final Fantasy Tactics". You can even pair up
units and make them fight other units with Tag Team action, like the
slew of "Vs." Capcom games in the last few years.

It has an interesting storyline, too:

____

Namco X Capcom takes place in the year 20XX as a strange time and space disruption called "Yurigi" suddenly appears throughout the world. Cities have been closed off under tight patrol. A special government organization called "Shinra," based in Tokyo's Roppongi district, has been formed to deal with the disruption. Serving in this organization are the main characters, Shaomu and Reiji.

As part of their duty, Shaomu and Reiji head into Tokyo's Shibuya district. A massive disruption appears as they arrive, bringing Xenosaga's Shion, M.O.M.O., KOS-MOS and even the Gnosis enemies into the Reiji and Shaomu's world. The two main characters finds themselves fighting at the side of the Xenosaga heroines in a battle to defeat the Gnosis. But this is just the beginning as the disruption opens up new paths that allow Reiji and Shaomu to venture into various Capcom and Namco worlds. Will the two be able to figure out the mysteries behind the disruptions as they team up with classic game characters in this new ultimate crossover battle?

____

There seems to be a HUGE load of characters from various series in this game...

Dino Crisis
MegaMan Legends
Street Fighter
Soul Calibur
Klonoa
Xenosaga
Tekken
DarkStalkers

...I even saw characters from Classic Namco and Capcom games.

Arthur the Knight and the Main Villian from Capcom's "Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts" for Arcade and SNES...

As well as Valkyrie from the Namco Arcade RPG "Legend of Valkyrie", and
the characters Gil and Ki from another Namco Arcade RPG "Tower of
Druaga", "Return of Ishtar", and the recent sequel on PS2 "Nightmare of
Druaga".

This is shaping up to be quite interesting.

Any thoughts or comments?

...I thought it was kinda funny seeing Felicia from DarkStalkers tag-teaming
with King from Tekken.

I'm such a huge tekken fan... This will be intresting. Do you know all of the Tekken charaters to be in this game?

wow, this game sounds rele unique. i mean taking a classic fighting-type games like those capcom and namco.. and turning it into a FF:tactics styke game? sounds sweet if they do it right

As far as Tekken characters go, I've confirmed King, Jin Kazama and Heihachi

Not sure. I'm psyched that the MegaMan from MegaMan Legends (Also known as "RockMan Dash" in Japan) is making a comeback.

If you look at the trailer and freeze frame it at a certain point, you can even see MegaMan Juno (The Villian from the first game)...

I'm not surprised that they put so many characters in this game...

I'm surprised at WHICH characters they choose to put in this game.

Mr. Driller friggin' rules...

I still play the crap out of "Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits" for Nintendo DS...

The gameplay's addictive like crack.
