to anime watchers: if you don't want spoilers, don't read this thread. most of the anime watchers on here also read the manga, and can discuss both without causing a ruckus.

more or less the same to manga readers. I, gerry, or some other people often post spoiler images/summaries of the upcoming chapter a few days pre-release

so if you don't want to be spoiled, don't read til you have read the chapter.

Chapter 348

My opinions:

I rate this chapter a 6/10. It's going downhill in my opinion, it's hard to tell if this is a filler, or if it's continuing off-topic~ish, or what. Especially interesting since they seem to have completely settled in on Orochimaru and focused off of Akatsuki right now, which is interesting as well.

Also, they hint in this chapter that Sasuke is doing some pseudo "good guy" actions, by freeing the prisoners. Suigetsu even tells them "Tell everyone you know that Sasuke freed you, killed Orochimaru, bringing peace to the world, yadda yadda yadda"

I don't know, but I like the way it's going with Sasuke. I wish they would get back to Akatsuki though.
 
Ya, it's pretty odd how things have gone. If Sasuke really intended to do this the entire time I guess.. but it seemed he never really thought of killing Orochimaru XD And then him doing "good guy things" seems outta character a bit. But it might be selfish desires he's doing good things. After all, if Akatsuki finds out (and they will) that Sasuke defeated Orochimaru, they might try to get back their ring (for one) and encounter Sasuke waiting for his brother (though that wouldn't make too much sense since Zetsu is the ring retriever usually).

As for this being filler.. kinda feels it a bit but at the same time feels like it could ultimately progress the story more. Some things are starting to feel rushed a bit.. Kakuzu/Hidan arc there were quite a few interesting questions that came up and are unresolved :P Ibiki popped up in 331 and then disappeared. Team 8's being neglected (as well as most of the other teams) so you don't know how their characters are really progressing. I guess Part 2 focusing more on Akatsuki/Team 7 but it really would be nice to see how the other former rookies are doing.

On another note: Why is Kishi making Sakura look less feminine? XD As well as some other drawing issues.. think Kishi is really trying hard to wrap up the story quickly? :\ I remember reading (and watching on that GoAnimeTV thing) that Kishi has his story all worked out and he has future projects he really wants to get to.. if that's the case I'll be upset cause a rushed job tends to be sloppy and leave too many issues
 
Sasuke never went with Orochimaru to be evil, though. He went to Orochimaru to become stronger. When that was no longer possible, he decided to find new ways to become stronger. When theres no one else to go to, it'll either be to Naruto(and obviously get his ass beat,) then off to find Itachi. Or just go straight to Itachi, bypassing Naruto.

Team Kakashi meeting up with Team Sasuke is likely inevitable though, otherwise why would he be building a team? So Naruto will most likely be his finally speed bump before getting to Itachi.

Sai vs. Suigetsu - Could be a good fight. Ink vs. Water.
Sakura vs. Karin - Need more info about her to figure out how this could pan out
Yamato/Kakashi vs. Juugo - Whoever the final member of Sasuke's team is, I hope it's against Yamato. Kakashi would just lolSharingan his way out of yet another fight.
Naruto vs. Sasuke, Part Deux. Likely going to push Naruto back to using Kyuubi, ending with Kyuubi almost being freed.

Well if he does cross paths with Naruto they might not fight necessarily. It seems like it'd be a meaningless fight. And if Naruto learns he killed orochimaru (Who probably isn't dead yet) he might think he can take Itachi. It could play out like a stalemate in the end or one just stopping and walking off :P (kinda like Sesshomaru so often seems to do in Inuyasha XD)
 
Yeah, there doesn't need to be a victor, it's just obvious they'll fight again.
 
Ya, though maybe it'll be the last fight in the manga and it'll end all.. oh what was that show called.. with the island of crazy humans and there were a group of them free and then a group of them tied to the government.. it was on Cartoon Network a bit ago >< Scryed or something like that :P where the last bit is a fight and then it ends in that way. Though I doubt that considering how Kishi seems to wanna take things. (but this is just speculation)
 
What I want to know is, why is sasuke the ultimate chick magnet in Naruto? Seriously, he had the whole class besides Hinata after him and now he's got Karin almost throwing herself at him; I think the only reason she didn't jump him was because Suigetsu interrupted them.

I agree that it's getting a little boring, I keep expecting it to reach DBZ-esque levels of ridiculousness.

Chapter 349

Interesting chapter with no real additions to the story line, other than a small cursed seal reference.

It seems they're looking to find the person that Orochimaru originated the cursed seal technique he so famously used on Sasuke from.

Apparently this person thirsts for blood so badly they will kill anyone in sight, even team mates. It's unusual as to why Sasuke would want him on his squad.

Nothing else to note really. Still an interesting episode though.

KARIN HAS HERPES OF THE MOUTH! XD At least it looked like it (ya I know she's supposed to have a glossy lip but it looked more like herpes or something :P). And I still think Karin looks tons like a female Sasuke.
 
Juugo looks like a fun character :P
 
I think Naruto will end with a big big battle with mutual destruction for Sasuke and Naruto after wrapping up Akatsuki n stuff.

Well, if it wasn't obvious that Orochimaru is going to pop up somewhere down the road going "LOLS FOOLED YOU," I'd say it'll end pretty soon.
 
I swear to you the ending of Naruto will be Sasuke and Naruto kissing/hugging/shaking hands in front of Sakura(crying btw) with the sunset in the background...

What else is there to end such a spectacular series?

I'd say so, seeing how all the antagonists so far have had epic battles, Sasuke Vs Orochimaru was dissapointing.

I'd say that's pretty obvious myself :P I wish Kishi didn't make things so obvious though... a little surprise would be fun in the series. Be interesting if one of the main characters actually died.
