Exactly what I was hoping for, at last.

I love how they pulled off the transformation. A massive chakra cloak in the form of the Nine-tails.

Also, popped collars.

This is gonna be fun to see animated when they get to it in the anime :D (in about a year. hah)

Chibi moe crying bijuu, filler characters getting assimilated into the manga (Utakata), and more powerlevels.

Apparently the Sage of the Six Paths looks just like Naruto
 
Also, Son Goku's Jinchuuriki's name.

Great chapter. I wouldn't really call Utakata a filler character. Sure they had a filler involving him, but he was already a known Jinchuuriki by appearance even though he wasn't named. (Actually I think he was named, just it wasn't part of the canon storyline. It was one of those covers Kishimoto does with color every so often. The one where he shows all Jinchuuriki standing together.)

Twas a fairly boring chapter, though it is cool to see Tobi starting to freak out over Naruto's power.
 
While yeah, there wasn't any action at all in this chapter. It was needed. It's good to see that everyone is heading to Naruto's position. Ought to be quite interesting to see what happens when they all get there.

However, since it ended with a scene of Sasuke walking alone I am willing to bet the next chapter or few after will be focused on his route to the battlefield and unless I forgot, I think Itachi is still roaming around somewhere. Not to mention Juugo and Suigetsu trying to get to the battle too. They should make a reappearance sometime soon, and preferably with it dealing with Sasuke. Since that would make more sense than if they ran into Naruto or his friends.

Guess we'll see.
 
As far as the anime went, holy crap! Double episode that wrapped up the history of Naruto's parents awesomely. Was fantastic to watch everything all animated. Interesting to see the animation style shift when the 9 tails first rampages. Felt like something out of a monster movie, wonder if that's what they were going for.

Eh, I dunno about that. He shoots Amerterasu-infused tomoe from his Susanoo without any noticeable effort. Who knows what BS he's gonna have.

Also, the last panel has me slightly confused. Are Itachi and Sasuke meeting up or was it just alluding to the fact that while Sasuke praises Itachi's eyes, Itachi is about to meet up with Kabutomaru?

I distinctly remember Itachi telling Naruto he has no intention of meeting up with Sasuke, so I'm a bit lost.

I totally fucking called that shit. In fact the only thing I didn't expect was to see Karin again. I thought for sure we were done with that whor- er.. *ahem* chick.

Also, yeah I know that Itachi said he had no plans on ever seeing Sasuke again, but I really think he was just saying that to ease Naruto's mind. It looks apparent to me that Itachi has found his little brother and that a confrontation of some sort is about to happen between them. I just hope Sasuke doesn't somehow gain even more power because of it. (he doesn't compare to Naruto at this point, but you never know since apparently he's full of bullshit sharingan abilities)

Extremely short chapter. After eluding to a Sasuke/Itachi reunion at the end of the last chapter this next chapter has absolutely nothing to do with that until the very end of it. For some reason we are suddenly yanked back to the battle between the 5 Kages and Madara. Not much dialogue at all, mostly just Ninjutsu with Madara mostly smacking the 5 Kages around until Oonoki realizes he's been rather useless (ala flashback) and launches a devastating attack that manages to only tear away part of Madara's upper body armor. Looked like a Kamehameha only I guess it happened damn near instantly.

So Madara is (suprise! okay not really) another of Kabutomaru's experiments, he's combined the 1st Hokage Hashiram (or at least his DNA) with Madara, the only one to defeat Madara. So of course, Madara can use both sets of abilities.

This chapter flew by. While interesting, I imagine this is just one of those segments that will likely be way more interesting to watch when it is animated and likely still be just as brief.

And then we are back to Saucegay who apparently killed the white dudes and then does a dramatic run to a wooded area and NOW he glimpses Itachi. (even though this already happened in the last chapter) *shrug* whatever..

I think at the end of the last chapter, Sasuke just sensed someone in the woods. I'm more pleased with Sasuke's reaction at the end of this chapter, like "What. The. Fuck?!"

On that note, are we going to see Itachi turn Sasuke to at least help Naruto against Tobi? I'm not expecting a full turnaround, but if Sasuke sees how Tobi used Itachi and whatnot, we might have a motive to at least see them team up "enemy of my enemy" style.
 
I think it will either be that, or we will see the true depths of his insanity.

it's been very clearly stated that Sasuke is EVERYTHING to Itachi. There's no way he doesn't try to do something for him here.
