Wrong thread, but yeah, both Bleach and Naruto had really awesome chapters this week.

Retcons in this chapter.. Gai can use ninjutsu. He summoned a turtle in the Exams. He can use bunshin too.

No, the retcon is stating that he's not capable of it. Despite the fact that he clearly is.
 
Could argue he got the turtle other ways, but ya, that is a bit retconny :| But sad he'll die now :(

Shame this board is dead because this is the best chapter of Naruto since I started making these threads over half a decade ago.

Yes that's right, it's the best chapter since the timeskip. It's really that good.
 
I agree entirely. Honestly, it's one of the best chapters ever... I can't wait to see it animated.

I'm also glad to see that Madara couldn't just shrug it all off. He got wrecked by Gai.
 
Yes.. yes yes! Definitely an amazing chapter and I am very much (as always) looking forward to what happens next.
 
I wish I could get into Naruto. I tried 3 times and keep getting stuck at those early exams. Apparently those were some of the best days of the series and if I wasn't hooked then, I wouldn't be hooked now.

Seriously. While I'm not a hardcore Gai fan like some people, I actually don't want all this crap interrupting his epic 8 Gates vs Rikudo Madara fight.

I only really care about 2 pages here.

One where they actually gave a decent, albeit late, explanation about the Rinnegan, and the last page because I only care about Guy.
 
I really hope they Deus Ex Machina Guy :( I don't want him to die.

This was badass until the end when the shitty main character of this story took all of the emotion out of the whole fight

Yay, they're more powerful than the entire cast combined now, because...reasons..

Actually there is literally no reason at all for Sasuke to have the Rinnegan but hey we'll go with it
 
Gai lives. One of the most epic deaths in manga/anime just got shat on. Severely disappointed.

Can't say I wasn't expecting a power up... Naruto looks awesome, Sasuke looks...aright? I wouldn't say his eye is just a Rinnegan, but rather something more. It has tomoe on it like the Jubei's eye, so we'll see.

But seriously, Gai should have died. Best and most amazing death ever...squandered....
 
Personally, I don't mind Gai not dying. I like him and I also HATE when they do the "person dies in vain only for the hero of the story to avenge them and really beat the bad guy" trope. If he was going to die, I'd only want it with him being successful killing the bad guy. I mean, it'd be unique if a side character was the one who brought victory.

Also, they were infused with the sage of the six path's power :O typical Shonen stuff. Though annoying Naruto has gone from "sub-average person achieving stuff on his own" to "son of a hokage therefor fated to be more than he was" to "descendant/reincarnation of son of the all time powerful being in the universe" :\ bleh. Woulda preferred it sticking with him being sub-average achieving it all with his own power.
