Need Advice

Hey guys. I'm beyond annoyed. I've been trying to get my opo crown for awhile now, and I am almost finished. There hasn't been a broken mithran rod on the AH for awhile. I've tried to break one, but my skill is only lvl 2.. It hasn't worked for me. My friend with level 15 skills hasn't been able to break it either.

Have any of you been able to do it? And could you possible let me know where the best place is if you don't have much skill?

Devil Manta pond in Kuftal Tunnel, near the Phantom Worm pop area. There are probably other areas that'll have big fish to break your rod, maybe on a ferry, I can't say for sure.

Do. Not. Buy. Broken. Rods. If anything, you might wanna just go back to Gusgen Mines and break a couple just for the sole purpose of selling them to Opo-opo Crown quest doers. For about 3-times what it cost you to buy.
They are, however, 25k at the guild. If the AH is cheaper, get 'em there.

Mithran Fishing Rod (83)-Light Crystal, Broken Mithran Rod--After trying the location I used for Hume Fishing Rods, I caught far too many fish. I switched to Qufim Island on the SW side using Sliced Cod with Fishing 50 and was able to break rods well on Three-eyed Fish. You'll not be able to come close landing Black Sole you hook unless your Fishing is way above 70. Also, you must be above level 46 to have a chance of avoiding the Goblin Bounty Hunters. Sorry if this is restrictive but Mithran Rods 'are' hard to break.

I went to fish in Labyrinth of Onzozo with 0 skill, this works because there is no fish to catch in Labyrinth of Onzozo only has items (which will break your rod very easily).

The only trouble you will have it getting a bite, took 10-20min for me.

Since its only items in this area you can use any bait, so pick up a stack of little worms from an NPC.

lol I remember when I broke those on purpose in order to sell them. You definitely want to go for items, because the fish that break them you have to catch.
