This is on the flameboard, just in case someone "from there" pops in to say "wtf u suk a duk" to me.

Anyhow...(and note, this isn't really a flame, and thus I will not give any names - this is only on flameboard because theres a huge chance someone from "there" will flip out on me and crap)

I get invited to an LS, yet again. I bite the bullet and decide to join, since it's a pretty old/good friend of mine wanting in...they all seem nice and crap, blah blah blah.

Fast forward to...one night later! I was in a pretty crappy mood because of stuff going on IRL and such, when suddenly I see in LS chat -
Person (a): I'm thinking of levelling SMN
Person (b): WTF? No SMN is lame
Person (b): Complete waste of a party slot >_>

Already pissed, this sorta pushed me over that little ledge. I retort, saying how he (a PLD) is worthless compared to NIN tanks. He, of course, goes completely apesh-!t, starts flaming me....and the entire LS....for five minutes. He finally stays everyone in the LS to f-!k themself, and drops his pearl. 3/4 of the LS starts chewing my ass in /tell, telling me to drop my pearl, quit the game, blah blah blah. I swallow my pride and apologise to the LS (they continue to flame me in /tell), drop my pearl, and apologize to the guy (he tells me to f-!k off.), and, after about 10 minutes of seeing purple words saying about how I'm such a heartless bitch, I give up and log off for the night.

Next day, my friend (the one whom invited me to the LS in the first place) sends me a tell saying she heard about the arguement and how she was sorry about what happened in the LS, but I shouldn't have directly attacked the guy like that....

.....WHAT?
He's the one calling my job a complete waste of a slot, and me retorting, his job is worthless comparing to another class makes me the villain? Bullsh-!t.

Granted, I was in a bad mood, and I may have made it sound like I was targetting JUST him, but at least what -I- said had some kindof reason behind it (rather, I state: NIN tank better than PLD, and it's simply my opinion. He states: OFMG SMN SUK LOLZ. And I'm the bad guy here?)


And apparently everyone (and my three friends in the LS, whom I'm not gonna talk to for quite some time because of this) thinks I'm the one at fault here. Why? Because that guy has been in the LS longer than me.
What. The. Bloody. F-!k. I don't have the right to defend myself if someone's been in the LS longer than me? And even though HE'S the one who went all nutso and flamed the entire LS for 5 minutes plus before leaving, they STILL take his side?


I dunno, maybe I'm just being upstuck or something. The opinion I need is - am I really the one at fault here? Because I really, really don't see how; I apologized to him, and the LS, despite that he gave the first jab, and both told me to f-!k off AND continued to chew me out.

You were both wrong.

Yes he was wrong, but if you want to defend your job, defend your job, dont attack his. Definite over-reaction on his part though. Based solely on the information provided though, your "friends" are wrong too for not showing you some support or, at the very least, equal admonishment.

:roll: hey it happened to me too. But I don't think you did anything wrong from the way you described what happened. He insulted your job, you defended + insult his job a bit. "An eye for an eye." I don't always go by that, but hey when it permits- why the hell not. You even apologized :shock: I can get a bit too stubborn for that ^^: but anyway. No I don't think you're at fault at all.

Finding a good LS is hard task, it's like looking for the perfect guy/woman or friends. One day you'll stumble on one :)

And I know, I was a bit pissed that night (an eye for an eye makes one blind, blah blah blah.. ><), even admitted it and apologized, but they completely ignored it, rather, made them flame me more. Just thought it was kindof....eh..

lol jk. I side with you because any person who bashes another person job, and doesn't have the balls to stand a little bashing of his own, is a child. Everyone has a right to thier opinion but if you cant take someone elses feedback then you are an idiot. So I think you were justified. And I know what the whole LS crap is about. Got sick of it myself and just made my own with a whole three members! But its three people I can trust, and that to me, is better then a thirty person ls of idiots =3
 
you were both wrong in terms of how you handled it and that LS was also completely wrong/imature. That PLD was a moron though... SMN is one of the key jobs in the end of the game. They can make things so much more efficient and easier. Frankly... don't let it get to you.. and leave that LS to being ignorance.
 
Suppose I better step up here...

First off, it was my LS Mish joined, and I was the one that invited her. What happened on Saturday night was, from my perspective, a complete misunderstanding that should never have turned into what it did.

I made a post about it last night in our LSs forum. I'll repost here:

Saturday night, a few things happened that very likely hurt other's feelings. I wasn't there at the time, but I've talked to others involved and I think I have a fairly good idea of what happened.

I'll recap for those who weren't there:

Eulore was talking to... someone in the LS (can't remember who) about their party. They mentioned having a SMN in there as a damage-dealer slot. Eulore said that the SMN in that party was worthless, and that they should have a BLM or something instead. Ish misunderstood that and thought Eulore was saying that SMN were worthless in general. Since her second-highest job is SMN, she took it as a personal attack. Her first response was something along the lines of "You're worthless compared to NIN." Ish, of course, meant that PLD was a worse job than NIN for tanking. However, everyone misunderstood that as an attack directed at Eulore, saying that he was worthless. Just about everyone else in the LS "defended" Eulore, as most people respected him more than some random newcomer. The resulting argument wound up with Ish dropping her pearl.

Or at least, that's what I understand from talking with the people involved.

I talked with Ish and Eulore earlier today. Ish said that she didn't want to be in a LS that wouldn't let her express her opinion. Eulore said that he didn't mean for any of this to happen and that he took off his pearl a few minutes after it started.

I think that this was just one large misunderstanding, brought on from a poor choice of words, annoyance from outside the game, and late night, caffeine-powered gaming. Sadly, I wasn't able to talk Ish into rejoining the LS. I would like for that to change, or at least for us to have a chance at showing her a better side to our LS.

That is, at least, what I was able to piece together from talking to everyone involved. Sadly, I wasn't there at the time as I logged to go to bed before it happened.

I don't know exactly what the rest of the LS said. But I'm very disappointed in how they acted. This whole argument happened because of a poor choice of words and late-night thoughtlessness - basically, everyone was tired and no one was really thinking straight.

I really wish that this had never happened - our LS is rarely like that.

i won't defend my LS, because it wasn't called for... all i can say is that i flamed them myself for the rudeness.

crap happens, and i'm sorry you went through it.

I really wish it would've ended better, as I've been hoping to actually get an LS I can stay in, unfortunately I know at least one person will forever hold a grudge on me for that (most likely shadowskull...or however his name is spelled..but I could be wrong), and I'd rather not cause more trouble than I already have, warranted or not.

Good luck and such anyhow, I suppose...
 
Thank you for saying that, Mish. I think it takes a good person to say that they'd rather stay out of a LS because they don't want to cause problems, even when they didn't cause them.

If you ever change your mind and want to rejoin, just tell me or Rei and we'll get you a pearl. If anyone starts to give you problems (either in LS chat or via /tell) we'll make sure that they stop.

Although I do want you to reply to the PM I sent you - I think that's a problem that needs to be nipped in the bud ASAP.

Heh, yeah, it sounds that way. Mostly the LSs other members, though...

It was late, reading compehension was pretty low, and I'm guessing more than a few people were stressed out. Mish said something and everyone thought she said something else, everyone got mad at her, etc etc etc.

Rei and I are going to talk to the LS members that were the most rude to Mish, and try to get rid of any grudges. After the dust settles a bit, Mish, you'll be free to rejoin if you'd like - although I won't blame you if you don't want to.

(Oh, and for the record, Eulore - the guy that started the whole argument and dropped the LS - came back last night, so that should help things smooth out a bit.)
 
Arguments can get pretty heated when someone's job is personally attacked... however, I think people shouldn't just ostracize you just because you lashed back. Although not the best way to respond, it's understandable. :) After all, you didn't draw first blood... but I would have gone "useless? how so..." and see if they actually know what the hell they're talking about. lol....
 
If he's man enough to give it, he should be man enough to take it. He sounds like a little bitch in my book, good job.

In my ls i used to do that with the drg's in my ls, had lots of fun, we always talked smack back and forth.

Then i joined another ls, and one of the drg's is fine with it, his sig has anti dark knight propoganda, but the other drg gets his panties all in a bunch.
 
It was wrong of the PLD to bash SMN's but at the same time it was wrong for you to respond in LS chat. You should've taken it to /tells with a mediator if both of you were that heated. Opinionated Drama in LS chat is never good for LS morale. :cry:
 
Also, I'd just like to add something else that should probably be mentioned...

Eulore (the PLD in this discussion) didn't leave the LS -just- because of what happened that night. He'd also been in arguments with other LS members, and was beginning to feel like it was mostly his fault. So after starting an argument with Mish, he kind of decided that it would be better if he left the LS. It wasn't Mish's fault at all.

And like I said earlier, he's rejoined the LS and hopefully we can smooth everything over and stop people from having grudges against Mish.

This is very true..... if you're not in the argument, you have that ackward "Umm... do they know I'm here? Should I be doing something?"
 
Blanket statemenst like such and such a job is useless realy just show the ignorance of the speaker, no job is useless overall, of course in certain situations yes some jobs have no role, but every job has something to speak of for its name.
