Ten bucks says you won't be able to visually tell a difference between the two.

generally faster response time = better but 2ms vs. 5ms you won't notice

5ms is good enough but if I have the choice I would go for the 2ms since resolution/connection wise that's the same model by default. I'm just not sure about the ASCR thing though (my dibs on something about contrast proprietary to ASUS monitors, even though it's the first time I see that)

I wouldn't care about Contrast Ratio, i have read many expert reviews and computer geeks forums saying that you can't really tell different between 1000:1 to 20000:1, is more of a to way a company trick people to make them believe bigger contrast ratio is better. A monitor is a monitor, if it show pictures, and no dead pixel then is fine for me lol

Technically they are right, since there's no standard for how to calculate contrast ratio, but at the same time, there is a difference between the values. My 10,000:1 contrast monitor is a LOT brighter than my 500:1 monitor.

Anything under 16ms is undetectable with your eyes.

Contrast ratios are not a standard measurement, since every manufacture has different standards for calibrating contrast, they're usually big numbers blown out of proportion.

Basically: Rrate and CR don't mean anything on newer screens since they're all very inaccurate.

My recommendation: go to a store, look at them, ask a rep to plug in a laptop so you can see the screen examples at native resolution, tinker with the color/brightness/contrast settings and pick one out that you're attracted to.

Good luck.

idk.. having something 10000:1+ monitor just right in front of your eye seem like very bad for your eye lol

Not really, I don't play in the dark very often, so it's really not much of an issue.
