So ive got two TV's that im debating over purchasing

Vizio 32" VO32L

http://www.vizio.com/products/detail.aspx?pid=54

The Price ill be paying is 599.99

Or a

Sharp LC-32SH12U

http://www.sharpusa.com/products/ModelDetailedSpecs/0,1161,1841-,00.html

This one costs normally 749.99, but at the store i work it was reduced to 699.99 and i have a 100 Dollar off So id pay 599.99

The specs for this one doesnt say anything about 720 or 1080i

I was wondering which of the two i should buy and why, and which is technically the better TV and what some of u have experienced personally with either brand.

Thanks ^^

You might also want to look at this Samsung TV. It's a little above the price point you're looking at, but it's got a much better contrast ratio(8,000:1) and Samsung's generally have some of the best pictures. Although if you carry it in your store, then you might be able to get more off to make it similar in price to the other two.

For the two you mentioned:

The sharp's resolution is 720p, 1366x768 is one of the actual resolutions of 720p, but it's weird that they didn't list it as 720p. The sharp has a slightly better contrast ratio (1,200:1 over 1,100:1), but it's not enough to really make a difference. The sharp also has a better response time(6ms over 8ms), so there will be a little less image lag on the screen, but on a smaller TV it's not as important.

The Visio has 3 HDMI inputs though, so if you're going to be plugging in more than just a DVD player and a cable/satellite box, the visio might be a more convenient option, even though it has a slightly worse picture.

Overall, the sharp will look slightly better than the Visio, but the Visio will be more convenient if you're planning to use 3 HDMI sources. If you have 3 HDmi sources, I'd say go with the visio, if not, go with the sharp.

Sharp hands down.

I sell TVs pretty much daily, and I own a Sharp 42 inch as well, the picture is in another league entirely from Vizio, which at best is a decent off brand to save Walmart's selection. Sharp makes great tvs, but the one gripe I have about mine and the most common is that the volume sucks. It has auto-volume correction on most models and even when you turn it off, it still finds a way to fuck with it. Your choice is on the low end either way for both companies, so the Sharp is still better.

Key points that people will tell you that are better, but never tell you why:
Sharp vs. Vizio:
6ms vs. 8ms response times: that's two ms faster that the pixels can change their shade, which makes it a ton better for fast action like in video games.
Contrast ratio: While numbers are arbitrary and not industry regulated, Sharp WILL have better black levels and white levels than any model Vizio on the market.
Speakers: Vizio does have the higher wattage per speaker, so the sound will be a VERY small fraction better.
HDMI Ports: Vizio has one more than the Sharp, which only really matters if you're connecting PS3, 360, AND some other random high def device like a HDDVD player (ps3 counts as a blu-ray, silly to connect both, and cable boxes only output 1080i/720p which can be done on component anyway) Also, this stat is rather moot because both are only 720p, which makes the 1080p boost of HDMI rather without point.
Warranty: Manufacturer's warranty is longer on the Vizio (iirc, didn't see it listed but I know it is in my store) than Sharp's shitty 1 year parts, 3 months labor. So if that matters to you, Vizio is a slight lead there. This point doesn't matter if you invest in the arguably worthless extended protection plans available.

Hmm thanks for the tips guys.

Another thing i wanted to point out, on the two Display models at my store, the Vizio seemed to look brighter and had a bit of a bettter picture, it might have something to do with the settings and what not, ill have to look into it.

iirc, the low end Sharps really aren't that bright and nice right out of the box. Vizio all together isn't that terrible of a brand. I'd say buy whichever is the best picture to *you*. I could spout of tons of things, but in the end, all TV choices are left up to who looks at them and whether or not it looks good.

Thanks alot, i really appreciate the advice.
