So I am quite new to this game, only been around for a day or so, and have been diligently trying to level up and gain some type of cash flow.
In doing so, I guess I reach my maximum carrying limit extremely fast, and start to lose items drastically. This is quite annoying.

Is there any way to raise the limit of what you can carry? As of right now it says I can only have 30 items in my inventory. It seems pretty broken if that is all I can ever have, which means i would be constantly running back and forth from town.

Please help. Can anyone solve this problem for me?

Well at low lvl you really cant raise your max yet but its coming soon!! There are quests to raise your max but you need city fame to start them and money to buy the items. Are you aware that you have a Mog House that you can store 50 items in?

You can raise the amount of items you can carry on you to 70 as well as the amount of items you can store in your Mog House to 80. There is also Mog Lockers and Storage you could look into. The best thing to do at low level is put your head down and plow through it. I would suggest completing as many quests as possible to raise your fame. With a higher fame you can gain access to the quests called GobbieBags which will raise your inventory space 5 slots for each one you complete.

Do you know how to sort and stack items as well? 30 spaces for low levels should be more than enough since most items you'll obtain are junk and can be sold to NPC for quick change. If you don't know, then do it by going into your inventory, hitting the + key on your keyboard and follow the prompts. I am not sure which key it is on PS2 or XBox though. ; ;

You will be able to raise your inventory limit, the current max is 70, you will have to do annoying little quest called Gobbie Bags, where you bring some Items to this Goblin and in trade he gives you a bigger fanny pack.. or something like that >_>

Thank you all very much. When servers come back up, I will have to see how to stack items.

That seems to be the biggest issue. I will have a lot of crystals of the same type, and I was wondering if you could stack them in bigger piles.

Also, how do you get rid of old starter equipment. The vendors wont buy them.

On the Xbox to sort is the Y button then just hit Auto to sort, and if you want to get rid of old starter gear then you can toss it, though it may be wise to keep it for leveling your subjob which you will be doing soon.

Some items cannot be sold to NPC, I would just toss it. If you compare the stats, it only has +defense, nothing more and pieces on the auction house (NQ can be bought from some vendors as well, check wiki before buying) have more defense in many cases plus some have extra stats. Buy yourself a new level 1 set off AH next time you're on a new job and you can resell it once you're finished.

Just a few tips to help you out: Since you're new, save any Beastmen Seals you receive, they may seem like junk now, but those can be used to open Burning Circle Notorious Monster battles (BCNMs) that can drop good items only found in those battles. You can make decent gil selling the items or obtain a rare item you might not normally be able to afford. Always keep signet on when you can, the Conquest points you earn while getting experience can be traded for some nice items (again, you can sell them in some instances). Your rank also has a lot to do with the duration of signet so do missions while you level when possible (many are capped fights). Good luck.

Another few battle tips. Always check the mob. Levels 1-10 you can easily fight Even Match mobs without real problem; however the higher you get the harder it actually is to defeat them. If a monster checks Impossible to Gauge it doesn't necessarily mean you can't beat it also. Those are notorious monsters. There's a list of notorious monsters and what level/job you should be when you fight them on wiki also.
