need some help please

I have been away from the game for about 12 months and I wish to get my original character/account back... is there a way i can possibly do this? do I have to call SE up or what? Can I use that returning adventure promotion still or is that done?

I really need some answers and I think this is where I should post this... so please help me out

Welcome back! There is a possibility* you can get your character back, but you'll need the original content ID and information associated with it - basically if you have that book which came with the game, where you're supposed to write all the passwords, ID's and w/e other pertinent info available you have a shot. However, SE says they typically do not hold character info more than 3 months, though there have been accounts that say otherwise.

In your case before calling them, try to renew the content ID - you can do that directly as if you were logging into the game where the "play" screen is with a variety of other options, one of them has to do with canceling/renewing. If that doesn't work your next bet is to call them. Good luck out there

Pretty sure if you've been inactive longer than three months, the character is as good as gone. =/

I know of a few players that got their characters back from SE. It took a few weeks though. They had been gone long time. Also SE had a thing a while back called return to FF11 where you could rejoin as your original.
