Need some recommendations

Need some advice from some of the server's more MMOcultured members. I'm done with FFXI for good however, I still enjoy the online aspect of the game and the story. I'm looking for another good MMORPG that is relatively (key word) hack free and also relatively RMT free. PvP is not really my cup of tea. I'm looking for something that's either solo story driven with a community aspect or teamwork driven like FFXI. Graphics are irrelevant. I only care about great gameplay and an engaging story. I noticed that EVE Online was the game of the year for 2005 for mmorpg.com...any pros/cons about that game? I welcome all feedback! Thanks.

There's no such thing as an RMT free MMORPG.

Period.

There's also no such thing as a relatively hack free game. Either there are hacks, or there aren't, and so far there are no online games whatsoever that are hack free. Some are horribly overrun by hacking (PSO ;; ) but for the most part there's a "healthy" presence of hackers no matter what game you play.

If you want to play the game which is probably impacted the least by hacking and RMT, though, try World of Warcraft. Money is very easily earned and endgame raids are all instanced.

I'm playing WoW and having a blast but you may wanna look into EQ2. It's HEAVILY story driven, and its fun to follow. I didn't get very far but I was an evil frog pirate, and I had a blast, but friends got bored playing so I came bac kto FF.

I can't say much about eve, but I know a lot of people like it, it's got a free trial and the monthly fee is 5 dollars I think, dont quote me on that. It's basicaly a all pvp game though. You do have a lot of choices on how to play it, ie. jobs.

If you want I have a free trial code I can give you for WoW, you can download the game from anywhere.

No such thing as a good, RMT free, MMO. EQ2 was a decent play but the populastion is dwindling. It can be hard to find parties at most level ranges. Luckily you can solo all the way up. WoW is a decent game as well. Both have well established RMT though. I will say that niether game captured my interest as much as FFXI. In order of addiction FFXI will always be on top.

I swear I still get shakes from withdrawl at times.
