Its been gone for quite a while, and Im not quite sure why it left. Is there a reason why? Could we possibly re-sticky a post on the top of the FB, and just post members names and links to their flames underneath them?

Again, idk. Was there a good reason for the thread to disappear?

I'm pretty sure it went away when the flameboard came back, however I think the one sticky post with peoples names and links to the flames on them is a good idea.

this is the same thing as a witch hunt for server transfers. No, simply put.

Im sorry, I disagree. Too many people get caught by shitty people because they dont read every single flameboard post that is ever posted. What better way to inform people than to condense specific flames to specific people, and post their names in that thread? If you were a shitty person, you deserve to have terrible rep.

Server jumping (in this sense) is just a way for people to leave other people that they were shitty to. Its to run away from problems they created. Its not a witch hunt.

Yeah, I agree with Ruffy here. I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea, and while people who server jump are definitely suspect (but for some reason, nobody suspects anything when anyone jumps from our server to another...), I doubt it'd become a witch hunt.

If we look at the list of asshats (not flavor-of-the-weeks, mind you, the real baddies) recently, it's not a bad idea.

The two biggest names that jump right out at me:

alecto -- Believe he probably server jumped again
Precise - NEVER GETS OLD

yeah, I could have been more specific, but what I meant were the real problematic people. Not people that outcamp you (regardless of how annoying) or people that outclaim your NM's. Im talking about people that are actual problems in the game, and may hinder you.

Its a warning list, not a "zomg, dont ever look at this person" list.

It makes sense to have a sticky at the top of the flameboard with links to legitimate posts in it.

There should be legitimate difference then. The sticky should only include flames regarding legitimate stealing or hacking and such then. Otherwise, we might as well just create a sticky for recent server transfers as well then.

I do believe I was the first one who said the word legitimate. Don't steal my thunder.

Well problem with FB a lot of the arguments are pretty 1 sided and uselly embellishing it up more then it was. No this not always the case, but really know you going believe everything found on the FB? In these cases it would be a witch hunt or more like a propaganda mudsling thread. I would say now if they are repeat offenders then yes that I can see, or major incidents with undeniable proof. Better yet allow a mod to decide topics he/she deem as watchout people could be place in the a sticky thead linking you to their flames.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

But yea I agree with hellstorm, let a Mod decide if it should be stickied as per hacking or things of that sort then.

just put a disclaimer at the top of the thread. The thread is supposed to warn people of others that cause problems, not damn them.

Warning and damning are similar in a sense ruffy. If done there should be restrictions. That is like me saying as an example "all server transfers should be named in a thread." similarly "all flameboard threads need to be categorized. Otherwise it would be something similar.

Why is there a discussion going on about this? I already said that it would have to be a legitimate flame.

I don't think this would be the greatest idea.

If it were to be completely open, as in anyone could post watchlist names, people won't follow the rules of putting only the cheaters/fuckovers/etc. on the list. You're likely to end up with a very lengthy list of people that some people just don't like, and you're probably going to find some people that might not be liked on the forum but have been completely honest and legit in game. This list could get to the point where it would need someone (or multiple someones) to mod it on a 24 hour basis.

The solution to this is to make it mod only. I have a problem with this as well. The morality of ingame issues is completely up to whoever is in charge of the thread. I may consider a ninja lot to be worthy of being put in the list where the mod for the thread would disagree and say all is fair and this person would be free from the watchlist (I highly doubt this to be likely, but you get the idea). The other problem with having it mod only: Don't these mods have enough on their hands as it is to have to constantly keep up with every single FB post and make the decision as to whether or not put someone on the watchlist?

Just thought I'd share my own personal thoughts on this...

They could have a group of mods maybe once a month go over the flames of that month to deem which ones are bad enough to make the sticky list.

Or maybe not. We'll talk about this on our own and figure out what we want to do.
