Neon Genesis Evangelion

Shinji just pissed me off the whole damn series. I mean man the fuck up. What a god damn timmy. Ohh man i can go run around in this huge mech and blow shit up, but no im gonna sit in a corner and cry like a woman. I kept cheering for him to grow some balls, but i was let down every time. Then i saw the endings and deleted it for ever off my hard drives. :(

If you want a good anime watch Samurai Champloo or FMA, i like those.

Quoted for the mutha fuggin' truth.

In the beginning, you kinda feel bad for the kid. His dad ignores him, the girl he has a crush on is Japan's best answer to the "goth girl"(its as close as that series will get) and the other girl who he's teamed up with wont shut the hell up. But when its all coming down to what matters, like saving the world (or if you need a better reason, your own hide) he sits in a corner thinking if he should get out there and do what he trained to do. I mean wtf. All this build up to what ends up being a sappy late 90's episode of Oprah where he tries to "find his spirit"? And the "build-it-yourself" ending that the movie gave was a total letdown. Either he saved them all or he didnt. Giving us a half assed "whatever you think" ending isn't and ending, no matter how much you want it to be.

Personally I think the ending was fine the way it was. It stayed true to the existential themes that pervaded every episode. And although I can't stand Freudian psychology, I did enjoy the way the series incorporated the psychoanalytical views of his theories. I had to watch the last few episodes a few times before it clicked, but once it did click the series was much more enjoyable.

Supposedly no, they did NOT run out of money at Gainax when they did the last 2-3 episodes of Eva. In other words, that bizarre head trip of an ending was exactly what Anno wanted it to be.

And then the fans complained that there was no climactic battle, no blood, no death.

So then he made the End/Death/Rebirth and gave the fans a battle, plenty of blood, and worlds of death.

Oddly enough, it's still a head trip though.

Death/Rebirth was a much needed ending. I was quite pissed when i saw the Final Genesis.

I thought they were complete a few episodes early, and the network or publishers or something demanded they make 2 more episodes to fill the 26 episode quota even though they were done when the last angel died. Besides that, I actually liked those last 2 episodes. They're a lot better if you watch them high though.

Prettymuch the truth. End was Anno saying "You want another ending? Fine, here, you suck."

The last two episodes were the Human Instrumentality Project doing its thing. The plot had been building up to that point for quite a while. Having the series end without Instrumentality would be strange... though the lack of transfer between 24 and 25 is wierd, at least it left room for EoE.

(severe eva fan, if you couldn't guess by the username)

Eh, the hentai instrumentality project was better than the real one.

I think the biggest problem with the original ending was this lack of closure. I mean it went straight from the killing of the last angel to the head trip. We didn't really find out what happen to any of the characters and after 25 or so episode you kinda want to see what happens to everyone. That and the lack of explanation of why the angles wanted to merge with "Adam", what the angles were, the building other evas, and what caused Instumentality to be brought on. EoE definitely helped with all of this but i think when they were showing all the clips and montages from when Shinji merges with Rei just really ruined the flow of the whole movie.

The human instrumentality project is an orgy rather than just merging everyone's consciousness together.

Wtf >.> Is this an official Evangelion thing?

I'm not sure. I remember hearing at some point that the actual creator made some hentai thing with the series; I don't remember hearing what it was they did, just that there was something. The art style looks about the same as the series though, so it might be.

Find me a link prz <,<

Somehow I doubt the mods would enjoy me posting a direct link to porn, so I'll PM you a link once the upload's done.

A hentai movie of Evangelion?

You can get a music video of it to NIN - Closer on animemusicvideos.org

I'm suprised you all haven't seen that hentai video, that thing has been around since the days of the show airing on Japanese TV I think. I doubt it's an official part of the canon, LOL, just that the art style looks similiar to the animes. It does repeat the same frames after awhile, I think it's only 15 minutes long too, can't remember exactly.

15 minutes long, censored, and badly animated lol. Reminds me of that one Hentai i'd seen where they did a bunch of anime series. All done very badly.
