Anyone read Engadget?

I bought a new LCD HDTV not too long ago and I remember the saleswoman pushing Monster Cables. (I awas tired of hunting for the best-bang-for-the-buck deal; online savings were nullified by shipping. So I wasn't going to leave another show room empty handed.) I opted for a generic HDMI cable instead and my TV looks great to me. Glad I did now.

I got some $5 HDMI cables off amazon.com. They work just fine. I hear that these "cheap" cables can die out after a while, but hell buying another one is still nowhere near what they charge.

This is why you don't buy Monster Cables. Terrible business practices aside, they simply don't do anything better.

Its not just that they have bad business practices... but hello! But frivolous law suits aren't going to help the brand name! Introduce your lawyers and marketing guys to each other and cut the crap.
