You don't use PLD/RDM, PLD/NIN only because AV hits like a truck. The SE video shows them using a RDM to tank which is why those spells should be mentioned, but the effects listed don't occur in this instance when AV is immune to all debuffs except Shadowbind.

I said PLD/RDM, and used JoL as an example mob that it would be used to tank. I never suggested PLD/RDM for AV. I'm aware that they were using a RDM tank, I was simply trying to demonstrate my point that a PLD/RDM would use those spells for hate, so it makes sense a RDM/NIN would aswell.

I'm confused by your quote, why are you telling him not to play rdm? Those spells are indeed high enmity spells, which is why a pld/rdm spams them on JoL, if they were using a rdm to tank (anything) that is what you'd expect to see.

It was because I was given the impression that he didn't see those spells as anything more than hate tools, as a blanketed statement. But as Lavi pointed out, its likely he did mean towards AV specifically.

I was just irritated cause I know someone else who was talking to me about how worthless Sleep 1 was. This person, a BLM (not that all BLMs are like this) was talking about how I shouldn't yell at him when he Sleep IIs before I (as a RDM) sleep one it cause 'I'll never land it'.... Anyhow, not a topic for here lol just one stupid person made me jump the gun on someone else <.<

Last time I checked you could not dispel moves like hundred fists or mighty strikes. I recall trying it on dynamis monsters and the monster was still using the 2 hour ability. I have to seriously question if the source even plays this game.

The blowing 2 hours might be something though. If infact having 2 hours up allows AV unlimted use of the alliance 2 hours it would explain AV being able to spam it. Has anyone tried to test this? Would AV beable to use the 2 hour of say an outside healer party?? I know as a mage if I outside heal I can get hate and killed even if the monster is purple.

I recall reading people TP burned AV with K.clubs, then SE put a dmg cap. What if a sch or 3 <different parties> were to put an enspell on the parties for the added effect? Just an idea I got while using elemental arrows in besieged. When the pets put up physical shield the arrows would still do damage with the added effect. I think by adding int you increase the added effect damage. This might be a good way to get around the tp burn patch on AV. I would not put it beyond SE to do something to make players use rarely used spells on major NM's. They have to justify us buying the spells.
