I know Cerebus is coming out in the expansion but anyone know of any other avatars? I heard odin and alexander will be in it also. Can anyone confirm?

p.s. Bahamut will not be a summonable avatar for anyone wonder SE confirmed it.

No one confirmed Cerebus either..... total speculation from a video...

Cerberus is not an avatar.

it is a key NPCs pet pooch.

Alexander is a god damn city larger than bastok, I dont see any way how SE can implement that, other than in cut scenes or magical beams of light from the sky, which they can say "OH YEH DATZ ALEXZANDERRZ MAGIX, BTU U NEVR SE HIM LOLZ".

However, Although odin is a very powerful character, (FFVIII for example: He randomly appears and one hits your oponents.) I think he could possibly be introduced... And I feel that Phoenix is also very much a possibility as an avatar as it is mentioned in CoP (on numerous occaisions), aswell as having an item in the game, and a part of a zone named after it.

Although I can only speculate, obviously.... Untill the .dats come out!

I want odin in game... as an NPC like Bahamut. NOT as a summonable.

Summoners will be sad if they cant' summon Odin

I am a summoner.

I would be GLAAADDDDD.

They would have to weaken him, ect ect.

Same principal as Bahamut.

...If i remeber correctly, Alexander is the brother of Odon, they're basicly Yin and Yang. FF9 only made him to look like a city because, well, FF games are strange.

Alexander has always been a towering castle. In 9 they just made him the wings on the castle cuz it worked with the story. The city of Alexendria, protected by Alexander :P

Alexander and Odin are Light and Dark, I dunno how many times I've said it. Leviathan isn't the massive water serpent he was in previous games, he shrank. People talk like it's impossible for them to shrink new avatars down to a managable size. >_>

It's SE's game, they'll do what they want with it. If that means making Alexander slightly larger than a Tiny Mandragora, they will. XD

In FF7 Alexander was "reasonably" sized. It would stand to reason that he could probably shrink appropriately for FFXI, but how they'd give it floaty-motion like FFXI Avatars I do not know.

Like I said elsewhere, it'd make more sense for Alexander to be a very high level Automaton body.

If they bring out Alexander as a summon in FFXI; summoners should be able to summon the Statue of Liberty. (O_o)

I have to agree with some people that a flying city/mega-zord thingy that does not move like a living thing would be wierd. I think if Alexander did cross SE's mind, then they would probably need to completely change the concept of the Alexander we know to something else so it blends in with FFXI summons. Down-sizing the summon, and making it look different might be the way to go but a lot of people may or may not like that if you are hardcore with the FF series.

If they don't include it, then Alexandar may be part of a cut-scene or something. Thats always possible.

Hey not all the spells in FF are in FFXI. Most are, but not every single one.

~FF6: "Where is MERTON?"
~Merton: It deals the same damage Ultima does to multiple targets, but also does the same to your party members. (I think it left you with like 1 hp)

I'll start to laugh my ass off if Doom Train becauses a summon in FFXI. XD

And Garuda has always been a winged beast much like a Yag. Does that mean that SE will change Alexander? no, but they are Yin and Yang, and there IS a white knight on the Atlas's cover, so, you choose.

lolraiden

in any case this debate doesnt matter at all. no new avatars summonable (yet) on release. (Its not in the .dats that non ToAU ppl will have access to, and they need to be able to see it if a ToAU person summons it and it needs to be in the game code for the game to know how to display it.)
