New Chocobo Announcement! Detailed Chocobo Raising Details! Pics of new chocos added!

Ok, so, two things. I'm respected in Sandy as a Chocobo breeder now (already, yes, its disturbing how fast that was.) and after 5 hours waiting, the chocobos are STILL not ready. So, theres 3 choices I can see, 2 more hours (7 days total), 3 more hours (8 days total, remeber, a vana'diel week is 8 days long, not 7), or we're waiting until Japanese midnight. I'm afraid to say that these are the best options, because the other rumor floating around is we have to wait two real life days for our babys.
 
Considering the fact it takes a rl month for the egg to hit full adulthood phase, 2 days is quite a possibility.

I dont know any being that takes 1/15th its lifespan to come alive.
 
Well patience is a virtue, the same thing can be said about all of FFXI, however long it takes for it to hatch, it'll be worth it. Maybe it'll be 1 rl day for the egg to hatch, and lifespan? The choco doesn't die after 1month.

True, but we dont know how long it will live after. And, I think SE made it one day, just because they do the 'one day' thing a whoooole lot.
 
Just out of curiosity has anyone put their egg on the basic care plan (only one I think we can choose) or are you just letting it sit there. So far when I go to watch chocobo it says that it looks eager to come out of its shell.

2 days isn't 1/15th of its lifespan, it's 1/15 of its childhood.

You're thinking about it a half-assed, non-logical way. It takes a month for it to become an adult ... infancy to adulthoold is NOT a "lifespan." Point of birth to point of death is a lifespan.

Human beings are considered adults at 18 or 21, based on various laws throughout the U.S.A. Yet, they live upwards of 80 years. What's more, we're talking about a gestation period, here. If 18 years (the length of time it takes a human being to reach adulthood) were compressed into a month, the equivalent age after 1/15 of the time (including conception) would be roughly in 1.2 years.

As a gestation period, that's not a long-shot at all.

Those plans are for Chocobo development (+STR, +MND, ect...)
Also, for who ever is calling me half-assed, theres no possible way for us to find out the real age of death for chocobos. It could be 1 day, it could be an entire year. So, I'm leaving X out of the equasion, and just focusing on 30/2=15

Basic plan is the default, it's automatically put on this wether you go to the menu or not.
 
So, I may be a little behind but how do you get the ability to give your eg too the breeder.

ie. is there a guide?
 
Umm, you talk to the NPC, and the NPC tells you that you can give him an egg. Then you give him the egg. ...Then you get to raise the egg.

Because there's only one NPC in all of vanadiel.

Oh, right. The NPCs are in the starter city's chocobo stables. There should be two new ones, one of them has TONS of chocobo information (The game calls them chocoguys I think) and the other is the care taker.

People really should just check the POL website. The update information alone gives the name and locations of the new chocobo-related NPCs.

Yeah, I agree. And that's what I used. I highly recommend people get out there and look for information rather than asking for a guide for everything.

I was mostly poking fun at that useless vague answer.
 
I can hardly wait to see who gets they're little chocobo to hatch first ^^ I started last night immediatly after the update, then went to besieged (which we won ^^) and after i went back to my Chocobo after midnight GMT to check on it, i'm gonna check on it a little later, i just hope the names "Outlaw" and "Star" turn up in the names lists lmao :)

OMG we won?
I was here at start on undead and had to left in middle of second Wave.

That was real fun to have the 3 besiege and was really hard to start with 300 people against undead

Good job for the win
