Now I know this is going WAY out on a limb here, since I don't even have the points to afford Noodle Kneading yet, but of course I'm musing about it as I watch those periodic POL error messages scroll by.

The last big Cooking addition- sushi- gave us foods that add a big bonus to accuracy. I'm wondering if the pasta will be the Mages counterpart to sushi, and give a Magic Accuracy bonus. I'll give you a minute to digest that.

OK. How badass would that be? I'm hoping it's not just pipe dreams, but only time will tell. Side note, has anyone had a chance to actually try the new recipes and check out the visible stats? (I'm looking at you Cubs, haha)

Or how bout some food that actually raises evasion? There isn't much of that =P

Or is it even needed? :?

there's a few foods that raise eva.... if this pasta is the miracle that fellina has hopes it to be it's time to brush up relations with my cooking friends and start into a new line of food use

I meant more like Sushi does. There are foods that raise acc (jack o lantern, etc) but were few and far between before the addition of sushi. Sushi came and pretty much changed the way people select foods, and the acc given is actually more or less a significant increase (a percentage, rather than a fixed value.)

what do you mean by magic accuracy? All spells in this game are 100% accuracy, there are resists but that is totally different. A food to reduce resist rate would be completely overpowered imo.

Avatar accuracy food might be a great boost for summoner if thats what you mean though.

myst... a little bit off.. dunno if you're a caster or not but you're wrong... Magic accuracy exists... level blm to 15 and read what elemental seal does... i'm sure you're aware of the end result of elemental seal.
And there is armor i believe that enhances magic accuracy.. for rdms i think

As well as Job Merits.

Magic Accuracy is just a fancy word for Potency. HOW MUCH the magic affects the target. Where was resist affects if the spell lands on/how long it affects the target.

Magic Attack increases maximum damage a spell can do, you still have a damage range. Magic Accuracy closes that gap up, so that the spell will do closer to it's max damage.

You sure? I always thought magic accuracy was how much of a chance there is for your spell to not be resisted. A spell that is 100% unresisted will do max damage, a spell that is 50% resisted will do 50% damage. More magic accuracy would reduce the chances of your spell being resisted even a bit. Since magic accuracy is on the rdm gear, I assumed it was to make up for their crappy elemental skill and boost their enfeebling skill even more.

Your spot on, M. Acc is all is all about resists. If your magic gets resisted than it has "missed". Elemental Seal decreases the chance of a mob resisting your next spell. If you use Elemental Seal + Sleep it is more likely to stick. If you use Elemental Seal + Fire it is more likely to do full damage.

I would assume any "Magic Accuracy" skill would be resist rate. My reasoning is simple...

Ice Staff increases Elemental Magic.
Elemental Magic increases resist rate(and some damage increase, although it works differently than int).

Sniper rings increase regular accuracy.
The skill of a weapon increases hit rate(and some damage increase, although it works differently than str).

As well the titling in elemental seal says accuracy, and it makes a much higher chance of unresisted damage. And it makes less chance of resist of debuffs.

I do agree also that Elemental Seal at least increases the time length that the spell's affects will last.
