New fucking Shaj

Pure and simple, its call common courtesy. People who lack it, tend to be jackasses in everything they do. Anyone who does Dynamis knows theres a scheduling forum, and to quote JP here "it doesnt take more than a few minutes of your time" to check it out. I mean, not like you cant shoot Morwen a PM and ask if a certain time slot is taken.

By doing so you 1) avoid flames like this, 2) avoid re-igniting this age old debate, 3) avoid making enemies of the people in the dyna shell who's zone was taken, and 4) dont come off as a douche.

Ok so youre the leader of an endgame LS and your time is taken up heavily by planning other shit, delegate the task to another member of your shell, its that simple. There is honestly no excuse for not taking a few mins of your time to check the availability of a zone.

Oh and to whoever re-started the "nobody owns a zone" argument, by saying so you come of as being one of those that would probably jack a zone as well. Not saying you actually would, but you give reason to believe otherwise.

Here yes it is mainly a scheduled server like phoenix they were smart enough to adapt to it atleast the na/eu side of the game, we all know when it was my shell with the issue I attempt to remedy it and it has been for a good while. The thing is if your going to post it on bg it is a much different feel about the quote unquote owning of a zone, each server tends to go with what works best for them, some servers just go first come first serve others if two shells enter the same time they just communicate those who go an hour later or more are left to take a free zone. Shaj and others had decided to not use the majority concept here, while vanquished may not post they do some what observe who is where now. There will be conflicts if it to finish a relic or sorts sad but true it will probably happen again but there is atleast some effort. It is just as much as it sucks to lose what you had planned it is just over blown on these forums every time it does happen. To try and spill it on bg would be a waste of time was my main point not to get in to our normal debate about it, I have always favored some sort of schedule as long as the shells involved are some what flexible which was some of the resistance I felt here while trying to solve our inital problem. Not speaking of all shells here just the ones I had to personally deal with.

Really though, the way you all go on about it is as though that zone is yours and that it was stolen from you. News flash! It doesn't belong to you, they had as much right to the zone as you did - they just entered before you.

Here it is.

I was answering a hypothetical, not incriminating people. Who doesn't use QCDN and just enters Dynamis? Those who don't know/don't care.

It's incredibly irritating when this type of thing happens. I've been on that end of it. Trying to organize dynamis and then have someone enter before you. It sucks, but there's nothing you can do.

If qcdn didn't have the dynamis scheduling system, this would happen all the time. And when zones weren't getting "sniped", there'd be people arguing over what zone what shell was entering at any given time. This doesn't happen every single day, because qcdn has a good system.

Just because you schedule a zone on qcdn doesn't mean it's yours. I'd also like to say that coming to QCDN isn't an obligation. I feel like it would be nice if everyone did, but that's not going to happen. I was always just glad that most people were decent enough to check the site, even if they don't frequent qcdn.

This post hits the nail on the head.

When I started reading:
Pure and simple, its call common courtesy.
I thought this one might too, but only the first sentence does really!

But anyways... yes, it's annoying. I've been on the receiving end of it plenty of times. Yes... if I ran a dynamis LS or planned a dynamis run, the first place I'd come to would be here (out of respect for other players, not obligation) and no... if someone "jacked" my zone, I wouldn't come to the QCDN Flameboard to cry about it.

(Apologies for the double post!)

Oh and to whoever re-started the "nobody owns a zone" argument, by saying so you come of as being one of those that would probably jack a zone as well. Not saying you actually would, but you give reason to believe otherwise.

Also, that sounds like something a child would post, for several reasons:
A) Its not an argument, its a bonified fact that "nobody owns a zone", which leads on to..
B) Just because someone might be aware of this "fact" and not totally deluded into thinking that "booking" this zone on a non-officual forum gives that said poster more right to the zone than anyone else like the majority, doesn't mean (or even suggest) that I'm the type of person who would knowningly "jack" / "steal" a zone from someone.

Cheap way of trying to come off as moraly superior to someone in a debate.

We are surely living in the days of a post-apocalyptic Vana'diel, where gear is such a rare commodity that people would fuck anyone else's day to continue fueling his own ego.

Unfortunate for them, Mad Max, Boomerang Boy, Savannah Nix, Master Blaster and Jedediah the Pilot may appear out of nowhere to ruin their day.

If any of the zone-jackers had bothered to ask if they could do a dynamis at x time with some advance notice most of the linkshells would have changed zones anyway.

or they would have pointed out the times when x zone was free.

I know when trying to work out a permanent schedule with linkshells all I got really was "Your new here so you move all your days/times" and then wondered why nothing ever came from it.

Interesting enough I know rabit. He actually ran with us last saturday. Guess not any more. Also hexx where were you last night for glacier.

Let me guess.... Tuesday/Saturday runs?

If so, there's a good reason why you'd be asked to schedule Dynamis for a different day.

Cute little veiled insult there. But to reiterate, its called common courtesy kiddo, if you dont have it, then you are just as bad really. Nobody is arguing the fact that all zones are fair game, because they are. But because SE created an extremely flawed event (as far as scheduling goes) us (Quetz) as well as most other servers, try to find some way to schedule things as best as possible so as to avoid drama and conflict. Diabollos, as well as others in his shell, are perfectly aware that there is a scheduling forum, and if they cared at all for their fellow man/player, they could take 5 min of their time to shoot Morwen a message to ask if a specific time slot is open

Curjos, thats perfectly fine, you wouldn't come on here to bitch, but I guess you dont care much for how you spend your time as others do. I'm sure you know the glass needs to be purchased ahead of time right? So if someone goes in, sees people gathered at the markings, and decides to STILL go into the zone knowing people are prepping to go in, its a douchebag move. Corvinus obviously cares enough about the group of dynamis peeps he leads to be seriously pissed that their evening of fun in dynamis was taken.

Seriously, have the respect that even if you dont see it as a bitch worthy issue, others do. Just because you wouldnt bitch, doesnt mean nobody else should ok?

Showing up and finding the zone is taken is an impersonal, man-that-sucks sort of thing. Schedules don't always mesh, people enter late, whatever the reason, these things happen.

It's a different story when little more than a party sees 30 people gathered, sees a single colored linkpearl, and /still/ proceeds to break glass. They know that they just screwed people and did it right to their faces, and according to the original post, they did it while discussing things in say. That's a much more personal feel, it isn't just taking a zone, it's flipping off an entire shell when you do it in front of them with eight people.

Losing a parking spot during the holiday rush at the mall is one thing. Being about to pull into a spot and having some douche and his snobby girlfriend zip in on a crotchrocket is something else.

First point I want to bring up; I don't understand why you're still taking jabs at whether not I have common courteousy? It's not really relevant as to what we're talking about here and the fact that you repeatedly try and bash me on those grounds for no good reason or without any evidence to suggest such, makes it seem a bit like you're trying to take a cheap shot to gain moral standing. And now you're trying to patronise me too which just adds to the effect... Stop calling me "kiddo"; I’m an independent, intelligent adult and not a 5 year old child. Thanks.

Second point! Not too sure what you mean by "Nobody is arguing the fact that all zones are fair game, because they are" - I'm guessing what you meant was "Nobody is arguing the fact that everyone has the same right to a zone". But this is exactly what the whole thread is about - the entire implication here is that Diabllos "stole" the zone, which is impossible because in order to steal something, the object in question has to belong to someone.

Diabollos, as well as others in his shell, are perfectly aware that there is a scheduling forum, and if they cared at all for their fellow man/player, they could take 5 min of their time to shoot Morwen a message to ask if a specific time slot is open

It’s not really fair to blame the others in his LS. For a start, I can assure you that at least 4 / 8 of those people don't use QCDN and don't really know much about specific features (such as the scheduling section). Secondly, they aren't the ones who decide on what zone it is. Whether they knew about or agreed with the situation wouldn't have changed anything, so yeah... its kind of unfair to bash them for something they have no control over.

but I guess you dont care much for how you spend your time as others do.
More unfounded and irrelevant bashes at me. I care very much about the way I spend my time, and I have done nothing to suggest otherwise.

Seriously, have the respect that even if you dont see it as a bitch worthy issue, others do. Just because you wouldnt bitch, doesnt mean nobody else should ok?

Yup, whether or not something is a "bitch worthy issue" is subjective. Everyone has the right to flame about what they want, I just think the whole manner in which it is being flame is ridiculous. Comparing him to Shaj and start hurling accusations around of stealing zones is just inappropriate and unwarranted. Perhaps if they had actually stolen something or done something seriously wrong then it may have been, but, leading back to the argument, not everyone uses the dynamis scheduling section, so it doesn’t really make what Diabllos the terrible thing that everyone is making it out to be (although, I’d like to point at this stage that I’m not condoning what he did, I’m just explaining why I think people are overreacting)

He never specified why he compared Diabllos to Shaj. I have a good reason to believe it's because Diabllos decided to enter the zone when there were already many more people gathered. It's what Shaj did as well, entering the zone with a low number of people in front of 20+ who are waiting for their 72 hour clearance time.

I understand sitting beside the trail markings doesn't reserve the zone. Perhaps the large group could simply move to another zone. However, they have already gathered and are simply waiting on the clock. Why can't the smaller group simply move to another zone instead?

Especially considering city zones, is relic or that specific currency really worth upsetting a large group? I can understand fragments and attestations but to be doing this for city zones is more strange than it is disrespectful.

That being said, I don't think he was comparing Diabllos to Shaj in the manner you suspect. As you said, he was quite polite about it, "Sorry about that one," and such. I just don't believe being polite warrants going in a zone when a large group is already waiting. Unless of course, they reply with, "Go right ahead, we'll just move our group to another area."

I know when trying to work out a permanent schedule with linkshells all I got really was "Your new here so you move all your days/times" and then wondered why nothing ever came from it.

you were trying to run on an overpopulated night, at the time there were 8 shells trying to run on saturday, forcing at least 2 to take a dreamlands zone.

If a japanese LS shows up and enters a zone, coincidentally when you are about to run, is that their fault because they didn't read the scheduling on QCDN? You know, because I don't think a lot of them can speak engrish.

A communication barrier is frustrating but I think still widely accepted. To retouch on the parking space comment earlier (Because I do so love comparisons), losing a parking spot sucks. You curse out a stranger, beep, whatever. Finding out that a guy you sort-of know and work with stings more. JP shells are the equivalent of someone you don't know, don't see, and don't work with. An english speaker, who operates in the same primetime as you, is the same as getting your spot jacked by a coworker, or dickish neighbor. Anonymity is a big factor, out of sight, out of mind.
