New Halo 3 trailer

Other day i was just writing about how we don't get enough hype these days. I'm feeling Halo though. After watching the HD version of this clip, i'm thinking what we saw is FMV footage and not off the hardware.

Also which aliens were those when he jumped off the ledge ? They looked like some fourm of matalic brute with pointy ears. I don't remember seeing those before.

It was the next halo. What is everyone playing to bide the time until halo 3? Gears of war is obviously halo 2.5 GAWD.
 
Saw this last night on MNF and was surprised I had never heard of it before. But I was definently excited to see it and that hymm alone renewed my faith that buying an 360 was the right choice :)

People were orgasming when halo 2 came out, you would hear always hear about it anywhere and everywhere you went. There wasnt a single person that didnt know what the game was. People played it for years (including you), and some still do. And uh, the only time i hear about gears of war is either by you or korey, so yeah, it isnt the new halo. GTFO

You should get out more. All the cool kids are playing gears... until halo 3 comes out to deliver more of the same old Halo with prettier graphics.

Exactly. Its in no way as good as halo. But as of now its damn near the next best thing.

You act as if Halo2 is dying, which it is most definatly not. Play multiplayer, there are MILLIONs of people on at one time.

Truth be told Halo's nothing special nor has it been for quite some time. There's nothing halo does better than any FPS title at the time of the first game and there's more than a few that have been released since to rival halo two that do many things better. I can dig franchise fanboyism and being comfortable enough in that respect i hope you'll pardon me when i say Timesplitters > Halo. Customization ftw. Haven't played gears but as i hear it ... from all over the place ... it's the shit. Seeing as how Halo's all but proven itself to be a 1trick pony when it comes to content i'd say gears is in a league of it's own.

I really don't get why people want to claim one game is 'the next some game i already dealt with' why the hell is everyone looking for more of the same and touting it as that being a good thing? 'I'd like more mediocre please!' Sweet rationale.

I just hope Halo 3's worth the rent. If it's basicly the same as the other two that's about all it's worth.
 
I agree Halo (in terms of gameplay) is nothing special, but the story :P love that story. Personally, Battlefield 2 or C&C: Renegade > all XD

Great game don't get me wrong, hardly the holy grail of the FPS genre that so many make it out to be. I'd rather play goldeneye :P
 
Goldeneye was a huge change (I think the first) in terms of FPS during its day. (for consoles) But now-a-days.. meh.. I'd rather play all FPS on my comp.

Halo 2 had a ending the trigger to all the Halos is on earth the first planet to have life..... also there should be 11 halo games but they cut it down to 3 the p*****

obviously halo 2s ending sucked to build even more suspense for halo 3. And beside the ending, the game still kicked ass. I played that shit only like crazy, and multiplayer was better than H1 imo. I still load it up. And this trailer rocked. I creamed my pants. Hope i can play the online beta that'd be sick.

As far as gears being the next halo... well no shit it isnt. Is it called halo 3? No its called Gears of War, it's not the next "halo". It is however the next HUGE console shooter, as halo was. Just because you didn't hear about it doesn't mean it wasn't hyped or popular. Their were a couple TV specials on spike and mtv for gears, which i don't see for hardly any other games that get released (if any...). And gears is a completely different game. Third person, more tactic based, new gen and abunch of other shit. So in the very literal term, no Gears isn't the new halo, but any fucking "retard (for pere)" could figure that out. Its just the newest/best console shooter out.
 
How can people say Halo2 isnt a good game?

Multiplayer is where Halo shines, it isnt laggy (unless its a garbage host, we all know about that), it has a great flow to it, and to actually be great (not good, but great) it requires a tremendous amound of skill.

Its the only game besides Counterstrike and Super Smash Bros that ive seen tournies with rewards > $100,000

Its also the only game to have a tournament televised. USA network, MLG gaming... check it out

So yes, Halo 2, and soon Halo 3 is the shit.

And Delsus, dont be dumb, theres only 7 total parts to the halo story, not 11. I guess you havent read up on Bungies obsession with numero 7
 
I'm don't mean to contribute in Halo's favour, but there are things that make Halo, Halo.

For me it's the A.I. They really do put up a good fight, especially on Legendary mode. They are also really funny with the things they say. I like Halo for the co-operative ingame mode. I don't like playing it online at all.

Going to war with another world is very interesting, and Halo has a very imaginative feel to it. It's fun to compare Earth weapons to Alien weapons. Only Alien weapon i like better than our weapons is their Plasma grenades over the flanks. Then again id does feel more rewarding to bounce a flank off a wall and success in hitting the target.

For me it's been a pleasure playing Halo with friends. We can make jokes about being earthlings while being militant. Many more enjoy Halo for these reason, and it's not a matter of it being the best at what it does. It's how it takes us away.
 
Damn... it looks beautiful can't wait to play it.
