new ??? in Tahrongi Canyon

I found a new ??? in Tahrongi Canyon yesterday and I can't figure it out. It's located at J-10 along the wall. When you click on it it says:

Something is sprouting from the ground here.
It seems to be withered.

If you trade a distilled water to it it says:

The sprout is looking better.

If you click on it again it repeats the first message and if you try to trade another distilled water to it within 24 game hours (I think this is the time) it says:

It doesn't need anymore water right now.

I tried this 5 times yesterday and this morning and it just repeats the same sequence with nothing different. Nothing spawned in the immediate area, no key items, nothing that I could see.

Trading waters to it has been the extent of my experiemnts, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this new ???

How about trading: Holy water, water crystal or a water cluster to it and see what it does?

The question is, if someone else was there and checked it after you watered it, would it look watered to them too, or not? (In other words ... is watering it a player-by-player thing, or is it a thing where only one player can water it per game day or whatever?)

From what I've read, you have to trade Distilled Water to the ??? three or four game days in a row and you'll spawn Yara Ma Ya Who, which drops the Fasting Ring: http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/7094
