Also, that last pic is neat. Looks like the mog house visiting thing was right after all :P

looks kinda neat.
from what i read it looks like it can take the role of a whm and blm in the party
a new healer was needed, and this is refreshing because it gives the bored mages a chance to deal some DMG for fun when the time is right.

(can clearly see new regions on that Campaign map that does not exist currently)

Those aren't new regions.

The one thats highlighted says Crawler's Nest. It looks like they abolished regions, and will do the new conquest based on zones within the regions.

Neat. At least it'll offer more variability in campaign tallies each week.
I'm really looking forward to Campaign Missions. It looks like they're finally offering soloable content, although we'll have to see how it works out. That and being able to go on missions at lower levels should appeal to those who felt left out by ToAU's content or who have multiple jobs at low-medium levels. I guess you could consider it the Expeditionary Force of Campaign.
The meat of campaign, though, seems to be the Campaign battles, which seems exciting to me because of the no exp loss. Although it will probably leave the state of the Astral Candescence uncertain, with most players to the past.
One thing I'd like to know more about is exp areas. Prefferably an alternate spot to the jungles and crawlers nets.

Dancer from FFT, FFX-2 and FFV.
Scholar from FFIII.
2 down, 2 to go?

Time Mage where are j00000?
Time Mage from FFV and FFT(A)

The last one...hmmm...wonder which Final Fantasy will the next job be taken from.
"V" yes prz > >

I wonder if the skirt on the Female Scholar is connected to the body piece. If so then you will have some AF panties, which will be awesome.

Bloomers maybe :P
All I know is that if I ever take scholar past 37, I'm replacing the AF with that armor in your avatar.

Anyone else notice that in the Scholar pics, they're wearing a hat and glasses, at the same time? Minor I know, but until SE gives non-Elvaan billowing clothing I think that'll be the best bit ever (even if it is "just" Scholar AF).

It still shows new zones, like the one on the island west of Jeuno. Unless they count that one as Eldieme? Can't read Japanese, so dunno what it says =/

Probably is. You can see faded lines and orange text which I'm assuming denotes region. In the region with the island, there's two dots (Jugner and Batallia) and a beastmen area (Davoi). That leaves Eldeime, which isn't shown anywhere (unless it's shown north of the portion we see), and Eldeime does lead to a small island that's considered part of Batallia.
EDIT: Found this on Dreams in Vana'diel...

scholar = calculator?

Scholar eh?

sounds like Harry Potter meets FFXI lol

Will there be detentions too for late castings of spells and unrevised homework?

seems like another attempt to balance out the healer, support, tank vs melee issue

hope it works

If they dump the PS2 they lose a large amount of userbase - expecting people to buy a PS3 just to keep playing is simply outlandish. Not to mention that playing on the PS2 is much easier than playing on PC, especially when it comes to tabbing through characters (because for some reason you can't even go through targets counter-clockwise on PC...)

Also, the graphics in FFXI are fine, but then it's pretty rare that something like a jagged edge or something would get on my nerves. Though I'd personally be a bit happier if they put forth the effort to at the very least have mobs look different. 9/10 mobs of the same race looking exactly the same is pretty lame, to say the least.

All I have to say is...

The graphics, the look is fine. I'd love more variety in the armors/characters, but that's mostly solved through .dat mods. The problem is the massive limitations on the graphics imposed by the ps2; the low frame rate, the low amount of characters on the screen, the almost complete ignoring of the power of your graphics card. They're wasting 75% of your computer's power just to keep it on the same level as a PS2. People just want their $2000 rigs to actually mean something.
