So im headed off to college in the fall, Creighton to be more specific. And because my parents are lame, they're making me buy a laptop through the school, so im like.... meh. anyways, i needa know what exactly to upgrade. the base package is about 2grand, and i think i can argue with em to get it up to 3.

Mainly i want the computer for gaming and stuff, so i just wanna make sure it can handle games like ffxi or moar. whats the important stuff to upgrade.

thats the compy, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

You can get a really nice laptop for $2000... $3000 is going to get you something the equivalent of a nice desktop.

If you really want to spend 3000, go for the Aurora m9700 from Alienware. It starts off about 1600 standard but completely decked out, it'll be somewhere in the 3000 range.

Yo Demon, I'd seriously go for a Toshiba. Most laptops are trash, especially gateway and dell. Toshiba is the company that is used in professional fields out there, and they actually make the best overall laptops (which now come standard with fingerprint scanner for logging in).

Also, Toshiba sports full size keyboard with numpad. Best laptop keyboard I've ever used.

I would stay away from an Alienware. Just my personal experience.

My favorite brands being LG, Toshiba, and Fujitsu. If you feel wild get a Macbook Pro. (Download BootCamp From Apple and create two partitions and install a Windows OS on that other partition. Aside from the OS they are a particularly nice platform).
