New Level Sync Feature to Change the Way You Party! (08/25/2008)

These two fit the most for this. I dig 'um.

Give it time, there will be plenty of people to come in and say: When I started we didnt have these "easy" ways out of leveling, we had to wait 5 days for an invite, and that was to a crappy pt, where we had to walk in the snow... up hill... for an hour! Or "All the people who get up jobs now are gimp" or something weak like that.

Sweet, imma be swimmin in some chicken fries

Server mergers for this game would be an awful idea. Since the only people playing are those doing end game of some sorts, they'd just be bloating the crowds at kings even more/making scheduled events even more back to back.

Aggro is also what happens when you stack up enough -hate- to make the mob target you off of someone else. Plenty of differences between the two.

You don't stack aggro to pull aggro, that's just retarded.

You DO know that WoW terminologies aren't the same as FFXI terminologies..

Mind you, Skaw is right. In FFXI you say hate, and if mob starts attacking someone else, pull hate. If you run by mobs and they unintentionally start attacking you, then you say aggro.

They just need to start making kings popable like ZNMs because of right now they are just a waste of time to sit there for 3 hours in one of the zones just to have another ls bot the claim.

I'm all for server merges. FFXI just feels dead at the moment.

Thats cause all the fun people left since things like this were never implemented until everyone is almost gone ><.

So the rest of the populace just does the "endgame" gear grind events rather then just hang out and have fun killing stuff for the fun of just going out and killing stuff and exploring the game.

Uh, I was agreein' with Skaw but elaborated a bit more than he on the subject. I said the exact same thing his third sentence did, but longer. MMO terminology is MMO terminology, period. Just because a color blind person sees a beige/green sign doesn't make it any less red to the rest of us.

No, each game uses its own terminology. That's like saying Swedish speaking people uses the same terms English speaking people do.

Good example, yet slightly different, is the term zerg. You don't use it with the same meaning in FFXI as you do in Starcraft.

really think at the game is beond ever returning to this point there are small groups in the game that play for just that reason but there in lay thr problem smalll groups are limited to what can be achived.
as much as im enjoying the new WotG expansion rehashing the same area's we already have is motivating noone to do anything
and as for server merges ... have you met any of the retards that have come here via world transfer....nuf said

Well, most of the tards that come over here of their own free will are trying to run from Karma. Thinking that coming over here will negate the dickery that they did over in their origional server.

If you were in a well established shell with all of your closest friends on a server, why would you just up and leave?

You're obviously playing a different game, most of the people I know are playing the game for fun. There's also absolutely nothing left to explore.

People are doing endgame, because it's a hell of a lot more fun than sitting in town LFG or grinding EXP for hours on end. Not because we didn't have something like a level sync system.

Fun is different things to different people. Some people enjoy doing the grind of XP, some enjoy doing endgame and some enjoy just being able to help others do things such as get coffers/missions/assults/ect. for friends and newer players.

I know of a lot of people who left the game because seeking for parties for days+ at a time or longer didnt appeal to them. And saddly to get anything out of endgame you need to have multiple jobs in order to appeal to a shell since most people have more then 1 job to 75. Level Sync would have helped TONS in an area like this.

And after the 6? years that the game has been going on, the people who have stayed stay because they have something invested in the game. To some it might be because they've worked x years for their gear/setup that they dont just want to walk away from, or they just like the friends they've made in the time they've played and dont just want to go which is also understandable.

I'm just saying that if level sync had been around a few years ago, more people would have stayed. The reason I relegated it to the "fun" people is because they were the casual gamers who used the game to relax. I'm not saying that people who do endgame hardcore dont, but you cant say that there isnt a different mentality to a causal gamer then there is a hardcore player. Also to clarify, I'm not saying that hardcore gamers arent "fun" but as with the endgame scene, its kinda like work within FFXI. There's a structure to it, drama to it, nuances that casual play doesnt have which turn off the more casual players.

In turn, if the only "work" a causal player is willing to go through happens to be the XP grind, say "hello" to seeking hours/days/weeks on end for a decent party... or level bst. So again, if level sync was implemented a few years ago, there would be more people playing because a major portion of what happens in this game would have been more accessible to more people.

Also, "theres nothing left to explore" is true and it isnt. It really depends on who you ask. For a newer gamer it isnt true, and newer gamers usually ask their friends(usually people who've played the game for a while) to come with them and whenever this happens its almost never a dull time... thanks Fly :). Hell there are people who've played the game for a while and havent finished ZM or CoP or ToAU. For a longtime veteran of the game who's seen every cutscene/mission/area/NM/HNM/ZNM/ect. you could say that there isnt anything left to explore... until new content is given out. So then there will be things to explore. It just takes time. Only until they stop putting out content will we not have anything left to explore.
