A 2-week-old baby was stabbed in the upper body and decapitated early Sunday morning on the North Side, authorities said.
Authorities were called to a single-story home in the 300 block of Wayside Drive around 5 a.m., when the infant was found dead in a bedroom, according to police.
One woman was detained and taken to University Hospital, and two other adults were questioned by police.
Two children, who were home at the time of the incident, were picked up from the home, authorities said.
No other information is immediately available.

People are really fucked up. Found this in my morning news. Sadly crime has been rising down here, but this has to be one of the worst.

Stabbed and decapitated? At 2 weeks? Wow. People wait months, sometimes over a year to adopt a baby. This is gross.
 
Takes several years to adopt and thousands of dollars in some cases.

I don't know what to say. This woman should have all her reproductive organs removed leaving the only thing identifiably female, her breasts and filthy crotch. She doesn't even deserve that. She should be hung.

E- she was hearing voices telling her to do it.

What really bugs is that they were taking turns caring for the baby, no one would have thought too much of the baby's crying when the mother started hurting him.

Unfortunately there is no law that tells who can and can't conceive.
 
Sadly enough if she decided to killed the 2 week old 3 weeks ago with a rusty coat hanger, this wouldn't even be in the news.

It's a twisted world we live it....

Honestly I've not seen any news on women who may done shit like that to themselves, but ..

Well actually, if she had tried to 'abort' that far into her pregnancy it would have made news because although she may have been successful it would have been grotesque enough to be news worthy..

It's not nearly the fact that she killed her own kid, because yes, abortions do happen. It's the fact she decided to have the child, then 2 weeks later, "voices" told her to stab her own infant child and then decapatate it.

I didn't want to derail this post really, though I realize my prior posting may have, but late-term abortions do happen frequently enough. Mostly done by unlicensed "doctors" in someone's basement and believe me the media is well aware of it. They're just not going to touch that story with a 10 foot pole because god forbid someone even suggest that it might be a little late for the woman to have "the right to choose" a week or month before there due date.

I don't buy it.

Obviously I wasn't there but my theory is kid was crying uncontrollably, she didn't know how to handle it and snapped (happens all the time in these "shaken-baby syndrome" cases) and she stabbed the kid in a fit of frustrated rage. Realizing what she did, she knew the only way she could possibly avoid jail time was the insanity plea. Chops the kids head off and blames the "voices".....

I'm sure regardless she's a mentally unstable person to begin with but she belongs in JAIL not in a cushy mental institute. I really hope the jury doesn't fall for it.

I wouldn't blame religion at all. I'd only blame it as an awesome scapegoat because it seems to be the best thing to blame.
 
Postpartum Depression is fuckin' vicious. It seems to happen a lot out here in TX. A woman wouldn't do this just because she didn't want the kid, it's a bit over the top for that. With that bein' said though, it doesn't excuse her one bit. I'm glad the other children were out of the house, I remember last summer two cases came up; one woman suffocated all of her children and the other drowned all of her children.

Yes, it is a horrible thing that makes a mother not connect with the child emotionally, like disassociation. Many women do go through this, but they do not resort to such a heinous act, they are aware of the situation and get help (psychological/psychiatric - prescription). (This is not all in response to you Strid, I quoted you because what you said was correct).

For some reason the internet where I work will allow me QCDN access but not to the article, I read it when it was first posted but I can't use it for confirmation. She has other kids? Are they all from the same father? Usually PPD has an accumulative effect, not something that would fester after such a short period of time. Obviously her other kids will be taken from her (or at least... I hope).

It's also feelings of resentment, anxiety etc., even Brooke Shields had it, she didn't go all nuts and murder her child, she seeked medical help. I think this woman was already a bit coo-coo to begin with.
