so far i found some good ways to use the new macro system , you can switch between let say TP set and WS set with hitting the same macro twice

MACRO SET 1 "WS gear"
/equip head ""
/equip body ""
/equip hands ""
/equip ring1 ""
/macro set 2

when I hit this macro it will change my gear then instantly switch me to my other macro *macro set 2* which looks like this

MACRO SET 2 "TP gears"
/equip head ""
/equip body ""
/equip hands ""
/equip ring1 ""
/macro set 1

then it will set me back to ws *macro set 1* after i hit it

too bad not alot of line tho -.-

Yeah, can also do

/equip something
/equip something
...
/equip something
/macro set 2

and continue on macro set 2 to equip the other items. Thus, you only need to press, say, ctrl+1 twice, which is faster then pressing ctrl1+2

personally, I set it up in a much more advanced way, but I like it, since its more organized. Just need to get used to my new macroes.

Interesting setup there. I'll have to play around with it for SMN and RNG now ><; I still have my "classic" macro system set up, but this could make it easier to macro in and out for hMP, tp and WS gear.

I love it and I love that you can name the single blocks :)
Means I can have one block for each job I play :D

And what does your siggy say <.< Uzor

macro book 1:

CTRL

1 - WhiMag
2 - BlaMag
3 - RedMag
4 - BluMag
5 - CorAbi

each one change to a seperate book for that job

book2 - set 1 (WhiteMage)

CTRL
1 - BarSpell
2 - Enhancing
3 - Debuff
4 - Intro (first one with job selection)

that one is the base on each pallet, only the bar-spell link to Cure at set 1 etc. So on the Cure set, I won't have to press CTRL+down arrow to get to the Bar-spell set, I'll just have to press CTRL+1, which is faster. Can also just press CTRL+3 to get to the debuff screen, instead of pressing CTRL+ALT+1 to get to my RDM set and use the deuffs there. This also allows my WHM and RDM and BLM to swap in different pieces for enfeebling much easier then having a shared enfeebling set on WHM RDM and BLM.

I love this new macro system =( While the line restriction still means Windower macroes are more effective for, say, WS gear and TP gear swapping, it still helps even with Windower macroes I'd imagine. Allows for much better organization.

its russian. And it says:

Dashing and daring, Courageous and caring, Faithful and friendly, With stories to share. All through the forest, They sing out in chorus, Marching along, As their song fills the air. Gummi Bears! Bouncing here and there and everywhere. High adventure that's beyond compare. They are the Gummi Bears.

basically, the theme song for the Gummi Bears in russian.

Now is this changing the Macro Books, themselves or just the different palettes within that book? I have't had a chance to even check out the new macro system yet. This could potentially make BLM a whole lot easier.

SET 2 is basically the the second set in the book you're currently in.

/macro book 5
/macro set 4

would change it to the 4th set in book 5

I dont really understand how the new macro system works, as ive only logged on for a few minutes to check my Sam Af 6 quest.. which.. I turned the charred helm and gold thread in early monday morning... log on today and apparently the npc still needs more time to do the work, when it's only suppose to take 24 hours. Thanks SE, your update seems to have screwed up my AF quest. -_-

But back to the macros, I guess ill need a little playing with the new system to understand it.

Why are we whispering?

I still dislike the new macro system because even if you can call other macro sets (so that you can change every piece of gear on your character using one macro) SE still has yet to address the problem of "overwriting" their macros.

An example is for an ability like "Provoke", if you have a macro that looks somethign like this:

/ja Provoke <stnpc>
/wait 30
/echo Provoke Ready!

but lets say you happen to use another macro right after, you won't have that "Provoke Ready!" being echoed on your chat log, because your new macro has just overwritten the new one.

I haven't actually tested this since the new update, but i'm pretty sure SE hasn't fixed this issue yet. So until then, i'm going to be sticking with my windower macros.

macroes like that are useless though <.<; being a RDM and WHM, I can feel when Haste or Refresh wears. In the same way, I can feel when Provoke etc. is up while playing other jobs.

Besides, if you're REALLY desperate, you can just do a /recast "Provoke" macro at the start of your Provoke macro to see when its ready, or press ctrl+j xD

You don't "need" to have an echo to remind you when a job ability or spell is ready to be recasted, however it does help you be that much more accurate, plus its handy if you happen to suddenly have some /tells come your way, or something important in party chat and for a moment you become distracted. I agree that you learn to have a sense of when you can recast things like haste and refresh, and using the job ability provoke but its helpful to know the instant when that spell or job ability is available so that you're not a few seconds late.

And yeah, I don't like spamming my macros... always seem to ruin keyboards doing that -_-;

Though many things *are* on the anniversary of when you did them, typically quests and missions involving RL day waits actually translate to JP midnight.

If, however, the servers were down *at* JP midnight (7 am PST, 10 am EST), that might have something to do with it. Though one would hope SE would have more sense than that, I admit it's a vain hope sometimes.

Well i checked back tonight after waking up.. got the helmet, so all is well on that frontier. As for the macro's... well i've yet to even start fiddling with that crap. Honestly I dont see it as useful for a melee based person. I mean, sure gear swaps and all that jazz, but personally I try to avoid gear swaps due to not wanting to have a full inventory all the damn time and the fact that im running out of space to hold crap, even with 2 other mules, both of which are full, and i have an overlapping delivery box with many items... *sigh* Not to mention ill have to wait several months for people to stop taking advantage of of the new gobbie bag quest items before they become reasonable.

I can see the multiple books being awesome for mage spells, but I'm just not a magey person. :/
