New Nvidia Drivers for FFXI

Before my friend's laptop would be very choppy while running FFXI on Windows Vista, even without the built in windower. It runs like a dream after installing this updated driver. Big props to these guys.

He's running Windows Vista (32bit) on a Core 2 Duo (unsure of speed) and Nvidia Geforce 8600M GS. Before this driver update, it couldn't exceed 20FPS in low lag areas and under 10FPS in areas with 5+ people. Needless to say, it's at 30FPS everywhere now.

My 6800 Ultra definitely loves these drivers.

My 7300 didn't notice much difference, and when I was meriting I actually had worse lag than I normally do before these drivers. Maybe I just had something set wrong, but I didn't notice anything significant.

I just finished installing these, doing dynamis tonight so that'll be a good test. I had pretty much zero lag even during dynamis before the update on my 8600 GT but figured I'd give them a try anyway and if they suck I'll just roll back to the ones that worked fine before.

If your current drivers are working fine, don't bother using these.

Gonna have to try this out on my Laptop later tonight. It's always choppy for me so I hope this'll fix it.

Well just from using the new driver my graphics definitely look a little bit sharper. Haven't really noticed anything else.

Finally gives me a reason to upgrade my video card,CPU, and OS...

FFXI has been running on old drivers for way too long.

[Faule]

Mine won't accept the damn drivers. -_-

My friend's laptop wouldn't either. It would give an error message saying it's not running 32-bit Windows Vista. It's because he's on a laptop.

So I went to download an updated .inf file for the driver. Copy and pasted the updated .inf into the driver installation folder. Voila, it worked!
