So my friend and I wanted to play a mmorpg together, so we decided to pick up this game. So far its been fun, but we want to find some other people to play with. We started in bastok and were wondering if there were some people around that would want to party up with us

My ign is Yurka. We play the 360 version and my gamertag is Lord Yurka if you want to add me on there

Your best bet as you're leveling is to find a social linkshell so you have people to chat with.

Also you can start groups when you're heading to the valkrum dunes at level 10 so you gain exp faster by killing things that are very tough to incredibly tough.

Welcome to the game! The best advice I can give to any newbie, is this: Don't throw away your beastman seals! They have their uses later on...

Also, NPC any junk you can to get some quick starter gil. And ignore anyone who says you should have +1 everything in the very beginning. They are elitist morons.

-Most- people are nice enough if you need to ask a question. But half the fun of this game is finding things out for yourself, trial and error. Makes you a better player too!
 
So far its been really fun! I found some people to party with the other day in the dunes, and after a few close calls, we started to do alright.

You guys weren't kidding about that place being the best place for leveling. I have gained 8+ levels there already

Couldnt agree with this more. Feel free to look around, there usually tends to be Social shells what will accept people regardless of how long you been playing the game. Feel free to hit me up in-game, I can hook you up with a pearl for my social. That or I'm sure Excim wouldn't mind you joining his =P
