delsus said:If you want more profit you sell for cheaper thats why RMT will drop prices more demand = lower prices if there was less demand they would put the prices up like they do at X-mas as people want stuff then. If you do a simple A lv on economy it will be taught to you
-_- when people have sales what happenes.. they sell more goods and make more profit. Not as much if sold it at full price but at full price not all of them would of soldVeresko said:You fail at economy.

Veresko said:No. Why do people make sales? To get rid of stocks because either:
a) New stock is coming in.
b) A better product is now out there killing their market.
c) Business is closing, change in vocation, etc.
The stock they are trying to get rid of was purchased long ago. They are not making more profit or sale for that matter. They are taking a hit to make room for better, more profitable stuff.
Also, a "end-of-season" sale doesn't qualify has "more demand". If anything, it's a form of "more stock". Yes the store has the same quantity of items has the previous week but by creating an opportunity to aquire the item at a lower price, he is attracting the custommer. It's not the demand that all of a sudden grew up, it's not the custommer base that suddenly expanded. He just baited the already existing custommer base into coming in HIS store, not the competitor.
Finally, your statement was that "More demand = lower prices". Your exemple of a store sale is more "lower the prices to create demand". It's two totally different things. Creating demand implies there was no demand pre-sale or a lower demand then before. Hence the consequences of a lower demand was the sale, the price lowering. So lower demand = lower prices.
The problem is you are misinterpreting, doing it backward. You see the consequence as the cause. Economy is simple and complicated. Bascially, you take the following formula: Available stock - demand. If the result is positive, meaning there's stock remaining after "everyone who wanted the item" got one, the price will go down, since now you need an extra incentive to get those who originally didn't want the product. If the result is negative, meaning you still have people wanting it after all the available stock is exhausted, the next batch of product will be sell to an equivalent or higher price.

Demovarian said:I was wondering about that, honestly Some of them though are getting rediculous, theres many camping inside towns as "Newbs" begging people for gil, and in a very polite manner. The other day I was asked by a galka in south sandy, "Excuse me, I don't mean to be a begger but may I please bum some gil for armor to get my character started? ^^;" I said, ok he doesn't seem like a bad guy so I gave him 10k, I am just too nice like that. I notice afterwards though, he is begging others >.> I asked them to make sure thats what he was doing and it was, someone else gave him 45k and a few pieces of armor, almost lent him astrals! So I shouted in S sandy not to give him any gil hes a gil seller. He then proceeded to Logout. I don't know if the other guy got any of his gear back, but yeah they are really getting desperate nowadays.
