new sig

ive been working on a new sig. ive wanted to do one with an irregular border, but i cannot for the life of me remember how to do it.

here is what i have atm. what im trying to achieve is to have the sig without the white border around it and have my characters head arm and feet be part of that irregular border.
how is it that i do that?

I don't know photoshop at all MO, but I'm thinkin' mebbe a clear border? I've always worked with Pagemaker which you 'can' do graphics with it, but it's on a totally different scale than photoshop. Anyway just an idea.

Do you mean something like this?

If this is what you're talking about, then what you gotta do is, make a new image but with a transparent background. Take your sig paste it into the space somewhere and then place your character where you want, and save it as a GIF. BTW Good luck on getting your sig to a good size though due to our new restrictions

thats exactly what im trying to accomplish. the char and the red part are each its seperate layer with no background.

I always make it so the Width is the same as my sig. What you're doing is just fine though but you need to start with a transparent background. I use two programs myself though. Paint Shop Pro is easier to work with for me but I send the file to Photoshop for saving :biggrin: for some reason PSP doesn't process gif files too well. :wacko:

you know what. i had everything correct, but i totally forgot about saving it as GIF. thats what was wrong...now it works after i saved it as gif instead of jpeg
