New Spells?

Along the lines of questable spells, I'd like to add perhaps questable Blood Pacts for us Summoners. If any of you have noticed while fighting the Prime Avatars they have Blood Pacts that Summoners don't get. Such as: Heavenly Strike(Shiva), Thunderstorm(Ramuh), Grand Waterfall(Leviathan), etc. I really love the animations for those Blood Pacts and it woudl be awsome to be abl to quest for those suckers. I like them more then the Lv.70 Blood Pacts.

Ooooh......Ultima would be so lovely to see. *drools*

I will make sure I have max 10/10 merits available before the expansion in case Utsusemi San gets released lol.
Ditto, gonna exp bard (shutters) for 100k exp, ouch, and rng for 100k exp (wouldn't mind breaking out my obow in sky again) just to see what new spells and abilities they give to us. I'd like to have a useful JA for bard, maybe something that adds a +1 to the next song. Hmmm ranger, give us scavenge 2!!!

last I heard it was late May 2006... But considering it's SE, I'd say late 2007
I think SE would be more likely to rush the release to try and keep people interested when a rival MMO gets released...

Dia III and higher tier Banishes would be nice..but them increasing the amount/total combo of certain categories might be problematic. I mean, even MORE +crit%? geez..

You guys are all stupid. They're obviously going to add the draw system from ff8.

you can see all existing mob spells on autotranslator... there are tons of spells already in the game that we dont have... because mobs use them

Better get moving - this is coming in the update, not the expansion. I think it's this month...?

Furthermore, the FINAL FANTASY XI development team is already working to expand the merit point system for "Treasures of Aht Urhgan." Adjustments to make new magic spells and abilities available through the use of merit points are planned for the new expansion disc.

Nah the new spells will be in the expansion so decidence has plenty of time to build up those merits. '-'

Snap, didn't read the fine print... it's just the minor merit point changes this month isnt it, with the expanded list of caps and such?

Nah, that's Blizzard that's really bad for dates. SquareEnix makes dates well, they're sometimes off by an hour or two (max)... The problem with SE is that they screw up whatever they do. After every big update like that, it takes them like a week to get going at full capacity again.

Blizzard's more like... "SC:Ghost in September 2003!!!"...
September 2003: "SC:Ghost in January 2004!!!"...
January 2004: "SC:Ghost in December 2005!!!"...
December 2005: "SC:Ghost in, hopefully soon!!!"

lol that game better be one hell of a game. they change it so much it went from multi player to single player, to bing canceled to being release agian.

watch it be a flop...

As I posted in my LS. I think it would be awsome if you could purchase job abilities/traits to be permanite to any job you play as if you had that job as you sub job, reguardless of what sub job you're using. For example, you could be a 30+RDM/BLM and if you have a 75WHM with the merits spent on Divine Seal, you could use Divine Seal as if you had WHM subbed, when in actuallity you don't. ^^; If not that, then I would also kill to have Divine Veil for when I do have WHM subbed. =o

That would be overpowered. Convert would be the first thing a non-taru mage would get...

I wonder what SE will do for Blms as far as new spells. Now, Blms may have been spared a nerf, but SE still has us under their watchful eye. If they're that concerned about how much damage we can do, I can't see them giving us things like Ancient Magic II, Tier IV Agas and Tier V single targets. I'd love to have such spells, but I don't see SE giving a job whose balance is in question more power. Hopefully I'm wrong.

maybe you didn't read how I wrote it.

I think it would be awsome if you could purchase job abilities/traits to be permanite to any job you play as if you had that job as your(typo) sub job, reguardless of what sub job you're using. =o

So, since you can't sub RDM and get convert, you couldn't set it as a permanite usable ability, based on my scenario.

In all honesty, I think I would be happy enough with Refresh II =o

That would be nice. If you put so much work into one job (getting 75 and lots of merits), you deserve to be able to use some of those abilities on another job.
