And, does Eddie Brock venom appear in this movie? I was under that assumption when they said "Venom will be in spiderman 3", not "the black spiderman suit thing will be in spiderman 3".

The black spiderman suit is what will become venom. The symbiote first goes to Parker, thus becoming the Black suit, then after he gets rid of it it goes to Brock and becomes Venom. As for the Sandman thing, I think it's a plot device to make Spider-man go off the deep end.

Venom appears, but we don't know for how long. I've heard that he'll be in the last thirty, ten, and five minutes of the movie. In the comic/cartoon, the suit slowly drives Peter mad. He tries to get rid of it but can't until he realizes that loud sounds make it go crazy. So he takes it off near a church bell where Eddie Brock (& his reasoning depends on what medium you watch it from) is. He finds out that Spider-Man is Peter Parker, but doesn't realize that the suit is slowly dripping on to him.

In the comic-con footage, a huge glob of it falls on Eddie and he hits the floor on all fours, the camera (which is on the ground) starts rushing towards the screaming Eddie, until, at the last moment, Venom's signature mouth forms and swallows the camera whole.

SO EXCITED.

aww i was hoping venom himself would play a big role in this movie. Not the suit. Oh well the black suit is still sweet. Love seeing villians get their rear ends handed to them by something more evil. I've always liked the darker side of super heroes. Hence is why I chose drk on FFXI and why I like Ichigo on bleach (won't reveal any spoilers, but those that watch it know what I'm talking about).

Probably Harry will end up helping. I'm betting black suit Spider-man finishes off Sandman because of the suit's anger issues and that he killed his uncle. With a two on one fight between Harry, Spider-man and venom, it should a hell of a last 30 minutes.
If they are going to keep running the series, the next movie will probably feature carnage and venom. Maybe a sighting of carnage at the end of 3 just to lead into the next one.
