New Spiderman 3 Clips -- VENOM!

Like I said Ele, those were off the top of my head. I had completely forgotten about Lethal Weapon IV :P That was the one with the Chinese crime syndicate, right?

Personally, I don't see why Saw IV or Jurassic Park IV are in production. Neither required sequels in my opinion, not to metion THAT many. Despite how old the original was, I listed Jurassic Park IV because while they might come out every couple of years, releases have remained steady. Unlike the new TMNT movie, which is over a decade after the third. Same reason I didn't list the new Star Wars films, they're just way too late to be considered real sequels.

lol kids gonna piss themselves in the theatres

Way to bring up a bunch of 20 year old movie franchises. No movie franchise in present day 1990's+ goes over Trilogy. That's just the way Hollywood likes to work nowadays.

Only reason Saw 4 would come out is because its a horror movie and Saw has done something that no horror movie series has done in a long time... actually make money. Since it has that clique nailed, I'm not suprised they would make another one. It's a low budget movie with low budget actors which in turn means a lot of profit if it does well and very low risk if it does bad. As for Jurassic Park, that movie is listed as 2008 release date, which is hardly a confirmation. And thats 7 years after the 3rd one if it even makes that date. Spacing movies that far apart can work for Hollywood because there is a whole new generation of movie goers that don't know how bad Jurassic Park 3 was and will possibly buy into a dinosaur movie.

Deci, Harry Potter... on 5th movie (july 13th 2007 if anyone cares), im 100% sure they are going to 7th movie (duh, books, but still, the movies are going past #3)

First off... Venom won't be even a minor part of this movie is my best guess. If anything he will be in about 5-10 seconds at the end of the movie where we see the transformation and then this clip we see now of him lunging towards the screen before the movie cuts to credits. If we get any more then that I will be impressed.

Secondly... Hollywood doesn't like quadrilogies. Very few movies make it past triology status simply because Hollywood buys into the fact that movies only keep their viewership for so long and won't make money after that. Each movie costs more and more to produce as actors salaries and special FX become more demanding, so even tho a 4th movie might do good at the box office the profit won't be as great. How many movies off the top of your head can you think of that have more then 3 iterations? Even the hugely successful movies like Indiana Jones, Back to the Future and most presently, XMen don't have a 4th movie.

Yes I know a 4th Indiana Jones is in the works but thats like 20 years after the third and kinda counts as a new saga with a whole fresh batch of teenagers/young adults to not be bored with it (same way Star Wars did it). And the only way we will see an Xmen 4 in the near future is under a different name (Wolverine?).

Spiderman 4 could happen... but with the previous background knowledge I just posted and the fact that the actors only signed on for 3 movies (this was known since the 1st Spiderman movie released), it may be a long shot. Maybe the 4th one will be called Venom? Or maybe Ultimate Spiderman or something, I doubt many if of the same actors would be in it though.

This movie hasn't even come out yet and I'm already excited at the possibility of seeing the Spiderman and Venom vs Carnege saga hit the big screen... maybe that will happen in Venom 2 or 3 =P

The reason most movies don't get past the 3rd or 2nd is because they either bomb or just plain suck. It's about the money and I highly doubt they would just end a extremely lucrative liscense like Spider-man.
They will milk the shit out of this series until they end up making it into a 90-minute gay joke like Batman & Robin.
EDIT: IT's true it's all about the money but look at the Matrix Trilogy. The first movie made a huge ass amount of money. The second one made about half as much but only because it sucked and because most of the money generated was in the opening weekend. The third made half as much as the second and died a lonely and miserable death. It's always a gamble wheither a sequel will make money or will be successful. Some things are a sure bet and some are not. Spider-man will go as long as it can make money and based on the past 2 films its going to go for a while.

Movies based on Novels backed by a multi-billion dollar writer do not count.

Just for reference based on World Wide sales figures...

Spider-Man (2002) $806,700,000
Spider-Man 2 (2004) $783,577,893
Spider-Man 3 (2007) $700,000,000~

estimated trend up-down-down

In comparison with another series that only went to 3 movies...

The Matrix (1999) $456,300,000
The Matrix Reloaded (2003) $735,600,000
The Matrix Revolutions (2003) $424,000,000

down-up-down

or...

X-Men (2000) $294,100,000
X2 (2003) $406,400,000
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) $455,260,014

up-up-up

So as you can see.. the amount of money a movie makes doesn't necessarily mean anything for whether a sequel will release. It's all based on Hollywood and how they like the idea of movies only being in trilogy's, and it makes it easier to sell DVD Box Sets.

Lord of the Rings/X-men is the only trilogy+ I see that made more and more money with each sequel.

Not to doubt you deci, but where did you get those stats? I personally hated x-men 3 and was very disappointed on matrix 3. In anycase, i would really like to know where you got those numbers :3

Did it ever occur to you that maybe movies in the 90's and today, minus a few exceptions, have completely sucked? I mean, wasn't the movie industry struggling in the 90s?

Reminds me a little bit of Alien.

Which is good.

Looks awesome! Can't wait for the new Spidey!

The most reputable source probably.

http://www.imdb.com/boxoffice/alltimegross?region=world-wide

My friends sometimes call me "IMDB" as a nickname because I used to run a Movie review site and have a memory for useless Hollywood information and facts.

o.O wow the Grince is in there, in anycase, after thinkin bout it for a while, wouldnt it be fairly lame for the ppl with spider-man only show Venom for a mere few seconds at the end?
I still think it be a huge set up for a spider-man 4 if anything. Tho, I dont know all that much in the workings of Hollywood, I just know I would fork out 10 bucks to see spider-man 4 especially if Venom is in it.

Agreed but it's much on the same note of: Wouldn't it be lame if they added a surprise ending to X-Men 3 that could further the story but simply left the series at that?

Spoilers....

not yet ...

ok, ready?

Herro Wolverine onry movie

Ultimate storylines ftl :(

While i've enjoyed the marvel movies immensely it's really a shame they went the road of the new storylines for the movies. While i understand the move to the updated stories my stary-eyed-inner-child of a comic book geek all but spins in his grave knowing the potential completely swept under the rug on most of the new movies and games.
