New Starcraft II trailer is up. :o

Ya I meant FF7's :P I can't remember if the development cost for that was 100 million too or if the FF7 budget was including advertisement. I'll have to look it up.

And why like Kerrigan? >.> she's such a bitch as a Zerg D:

I like her story and the relationship between her and Raynor. I also kind of like the idea of the "fallen hero". To sum it up from a quote from WomenGamers.com, "..one of the most convincingly tragic and enjoyably 'evil women'... ever seen in a computer game". I like the drastic contrast between her human self and the Queen of Blades. It adds another layer of complexity for her as a character.

As a lead female character, she isn't a cutesy, ditzy, bumbling idiot like most of the annoying female video game characters out there. She ranks up there as one of my top favorites in the gaming world.

...and the fairy tale part of me wants her to be turned back!!! n_n!

Lord...if they made a Starcraft movie, I'd buy that shit. The story for this game looks so in depth and the expansion on the character backgrounds is amazing.

I agree, I felt like I was watching a trailer for a movie. The CG has a style but the animation was human. The voice acting is good too, blizzard always tends to hit the nail on the head with that.

Hehe that's true. She is an interesting character. But, at this point, someone easy to have some hatred for :P

I kinda see her eventually dying tragically. It IS Blizzard after all >.> they don't really do fairy tale endings.

Redemption AND death is always a possibility of course. The "Darth Vader" ending.

See, I think everyone is expecting this ending, thus why I don't think they will do it. Everyone is anticipating the "Raynor turns Kerrigan back towards the light only to have her sacrifice herself to save Raynor from <insert Edmund Duke Doomsday Device here>."

I'm expecting Raynor either having to kill her, or Zeratul killing her.

/shrug. I don't think we can really accuse Blizzard of originality, so the possibility remains open. Of course, having Kerrigan remain an unrepentantly evil bitch to the bitter end would be highly entertaining.

I see no reason to worry personally. blizzard always makes well thought out games. that's why they take so long to publish them. :P
With such a consistent track record i have no worries.

Speaking of games getting better the longer it takes to make them...... Duke Nukem Forever...sometime in my lifetime?

On topic: I'm just very happy and impressed at how in depth the story is compared to the first one. The first one had a great storyline and good character development, but this looks like its going to blow that out of the water and make singleplayer a highly enjoyable experience.

my GF and i were talking about that yesterday when i brought up FPS games. when the hell are they gonna reboot doom and the duke? lol

Seeing as how Warcraft III: Frozen throne ended with the bad guy on top it should be interesting. Its a three part story and I'm not sure how they plan to tie things together with each race. I doubt Kerrigan and Raynor's relationship will be the biggest conflict of the story. There is after all, the ancient race that I cannot remember the names of (xel'naga?) that plays a part in the stories background. I'm sure there will be a side plot but, I doubt the focus will be on their relationship.

5 MO DAYS

PS if you preordered, or something you can Predownload starcraft 2

DOOM already had it happen, and doom 3 sucked balls.

Happy... Starcraft...Day...? :D

Knock it the fuck off.

You missed a couple. D:

Now I have to decide if I want to buy this game... I'll probably just go back and play SC until I beat it finally. D:

I wonder if it's on Steam...

two more hours until home for me :(

good point, guess one should beat the other two before playing this one >.> it's not on steam but Amazon has the Battlechest for 9.99 /buys

Blizzard said, that you do not need to play/beat StarCraft I to understand the plot of StarCraft II. When they did the story line for the game, they had it done under the intention that the player did not play the first game.

I remember when I first played Brood Wars and thinking the whole time, "Did they even beta test this imbalanced POS?" ~_~

hahahaha. shame on you raes for not beating brood wars 10 years ago. :P
