New SUMMERFEST Event

I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this event. I'm actually liking it especailly over the egg event because you're actually doign something! Although I did get stuck with someone who took 27 game hours to finish one, it was still fun. I love it. I like the blue clothing I got with it and I can't wait to see what we get when we finish everything.

Speaking of which, has anyone gathered all the drawings? (I still need to get it done with a Galka, and a hume female.)
 
It started today....and I hear it ends about...August 8th? I could be wrong about the end date, but Summerfest is here and there are fireworks going on every night at the big 3 cities (and I hear Rabao)
 
I got the way the event works, here goes.

You must team up with a person other than your same sex/race. Me being a hume male, I have no need to team up with any other hume male for this event.

after you completed the quest once, you'll get the first robe, I forget it's name, but you all know if you've seen people walking in town with it.

After that, you must do the quest 4 more times to get 4 more items, NOT including the person you did it with to get the first robe, so in my case, I did it with a Mithra first, now I need to do it with 4 people other than Hume Male and Mithra. Doing this will get you the Lord Yukata which is DEF 2 and goldfishing skill +1.

Each additional completition of the quest just gets you fireworks or chocobo tickets. Various message boards have confirmed this, someone had done it 14 times already, all with seperate people and including his own race/sex, still only gets fireworks and chocobo tickets, so there's nothing special for getting all 8, hope this helps.
 
I wanted to do the quest earlier, as I still havent been able to do it. But OMG.. I dont know what your talking about. It is just as bad as the Easter event.. people constantly shouting in Sandoria and it never ends ahhhh!!! *goes insane* Good thing I agreed to go to a party in Crawlers Nest instead.

I do love the fireworks, those are simply awesome to see. I logged last night in west ronfaure and when i logged back in today to the different music.. I didnt know what was going on. (skipped throught he FF log in screen so fast I didnt see the SummerFest thing). I think those shirts are definately cool little rewards.. not much on usefulness.. but they do look cool. :D
 
I logged on this morning in Ghelsba (didn't even notice Summerfest when I was navigating through POL) and I was gonna make my way through West ron to get to sandy. When I get to westron I notice the music is different and there are fireworks! I was like 'cool, that is a nice change of pace ^^'. Then I hear my LS talking about the Mog quest and I see alot of people in these snazzy/pimp like robes which I thought they were neat. So I did the mogquest with a friend (Zhoutai) and I get teleported to gustav tunnel naked, invis, and sneaked as level 1. I was scared crapless haha. But we did get the item and got our own blue robes ^^. My question is, is that the only thing we get or is there more to that set of armor (like head, feet, legs, hands etc) to do it over again with different races? All and all though, this is gonna be a fun summerfest ^^.
 
From what i managed to gather, first after you complete the first quest you get the cool robe, and after you complete the second quest you get *not sure* either a second robe that is better, or the robe you had gets upgraded. After that apparenly you just get fireworks and chocobo tickets.
 
I was talking with Sabia and you get an upgraded robe once you get four items to trade....but has anyone tried trading eight? That would be:

Galka
Mithra
Tarutaru Male
Tarutaru Female
Elvaan Male
Elvaan Female
Hume Male
Hume Female

Now you would have to do the quest with someone twice so you trade the first time and keep your own item too. (this woul dhave to be the last time since I'm not sure if you can hold two of the same items... :( I'll try it and see what happens...) I better not get a stack of chocobo tickets..lol
 
Thought I'd just udpate:

Got all eight items. Traded all eight. And they left me with the top 4 in my inventory and gave me a Lord Yukata.

Def: 2
Improves Goldfish-scooping ability
Level 1: All jobs.
 
Read my post above, Lord/Lady Yukata is the highest thing you get, other than that its just fireworks or chocobo tickets, various people have confirmed it on other boards, such as Allakazham boards. I saw someone with a fan equipped, dunno if thats also gotten through repeated trading.
 
I think that it would be fun, if I could actually find someone who isn't anti Hume Male. I logged in and I was in Bastok, and I went out to talk to the moogle. I found out about the quest, sort of, and I asked around. Then the fireworks started, and that was cool. Then I started to get annoyed. Main thing was with shouts, but another thing was all the shouts needed everyone besides Hume Males. And the repetetive shouts.

I saw shouts like that one a lot, and it made me sad because all I want is the stupid robe. So from being annoyed, I ran away from the Summerfest. It'd be fun if I actually got someone to do it with me.

And I saw Java (Mithy) today too.
 
According to someone in my LS whose already traded in 8, altho he got said not all were needed...he got something like 16 summer fans and 16 festival fans? i have no idea how u get these, how many u have to turn in, and im confused as hell, but those fans are snazzy looking. I want some.

I saw somone with some sort of flower hairpin.....im pretty sure it was a moogle quest item.

EDIT: Nevermind im dumb....
 
This one is one of my favorite events (The other being the Halloween event that gave the Jackolatern head and bat staff) cuz the Yukata is soooo pretty! I live the fireworks and stuff too. ^^
 
For now, yes, all you can get is the Lord/Lady Yukata and fireworks/chocobo tickets. However, I hear Square Enix is going to be adding new things every once in awhile. Maybe we'll eventually be able to get a whole set of equipment to go with our Yukatas. ^^ And it would stand to reason that they'll implement a goldfish scooping event in the future, which the Lord/Lady Yukatas would be useful for. Personally, I love this event. ^^ So far, I've gotten my Omina Yukata from doing it with a male Taru, and I've done it with female Taru and Hume male, as well. Still working towards that Lady Yukata. ^^;;

Anyway, I say, just as with the Easter event, if you don't like all the annoying shouting, turn on your /say and /shout chat filters. :P
 
From what I have read off the few pages that mystery tour suggest we read these yukatas are ceremonial costumes. I dont know if they would release anymore to com out with them here is some links that you all can read up on this wonderful event.

I actually like the event too. It gives us low-bies a chance to explore some high level areas that we wont be hitting for a good long while probably :D

Hehe. It's alright. I already did it with a couple friends. Got the +1 robe, and now I'm done with it. Unless the goldfish-scooping thing comes up soon. Maybe something they're going to do on the last couple days of the event.
