new windower screenshot

I've been waiting for a time stamp for months, glad to see they're putting one in.
 
not good. I love windower but this could get them in trouble if that screen shot is real.
That little icon with the orange book and letters is actually already in the game.
Its been disabled in NA version tho. And only useable in JP version.

This can be unlocked with some work of just hittin keys on your keyboard, someone may remember this and i think it only works on PC cause i can never get it to work on ps2, but my wife can on PC

Correct me if im wrong but i believe the keys you hit are Control + L at the same time.

that or shift and L, but it usually brings up your linkshell chat thing if its not timed right, but if you time it right that little box will appear at the bottom. you cant click on it or do anything, it just appears there.

Enabling what SE has diabled could be bad....but thats only if that screenshot is real...

but SE cant do anything about it.. unless you openly admit it in chat.

there is no way for them to check that kind of stuff, and the screenshot is real....and as everyone already knows, SE cant use screenshots against you, because they are easily edited
 
If youll look at the load info it says windower is loading an IME plugin.. Personally ill be overjoyed if windower adds functionality like japanese language support that SE was too lazy to figure out how to add to the NA port of FFXI. I've been unwilling to download a whole new POL client just to be able to type japanese characters, and this looks like it will fix the problem for me. brava.

on the website it says this is the NA version

cliff has already talked about it on the forums.. you will be able to speak JP withe the new version of windower

actually,. jp typing ability is available atm...i downloaded the IME earlier from the http://ffxi.archbell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1280
works good too
 
you can already type japanese on PC without windower lol, Activate the japanese stuff in windows XP, my wifes PC has that. And in your start bar at the bottom youll see a little square from now on that says either EN if your typing in english or JP is japanese. You never needed windower to do it :P

im talking about typeing in jp in ffxi. i got that IME and am able to type in jp on the game

Microsoft owns IME, SE liscenced it for JP version not sure about na but if not the i believe they are able to sue for no permission to use.
 
the IME that i just got today is an installed program. its another third party piece of software used to type onto the windower. it uses the IME just as every other program on your computer to type in other languages. IE- to type in japanese in microsoft word/notepad, or whatever kind of other "extra" type of program you have. the IME i downloaded is the same type. imagine it as microsoft word...to type in japanese on it, you have to use the IME settings to convert the language. and this third party program has a link somehow through dll or whatever to broadcast what you typed in the third party IME into ffxi
 
The sad thing is, 90% of the people who are going to use the IME plugin with the NA POL have no idea how to read/write Kanji and just want to make pretty faces with it.

first one i set the language to japanese and typed into the IME

this one is just after i hit enter. it placed the text into the ffxi window and i had switched the language back to english and typed into the IME again.

;D yay!! I can practice my japanese on them now... lol!! It would be funny when some people will get their hands on this ability and just spam nonsense in japanese cuz they think it looks cool. Japanese will just think that americans are more retarded...

With it activated in windows YOU CAN type in jp in FFXI, this was the only reason we activated japanese in windows, we had found a guide to it online. Infact, that guide was posted here or alla, i cant remember which it was.
