Alright, I always start working out again and then going back into my lazy slump.....but now I'm gonna come up with a plan and stick with it.

I'm a skinny piece of crap and I have a great body frame so.....its time to get stacked.

My plan is to set a daily workout plan to go by and as time goes on, kick it up a notch. I'm also gonna make sure to take in the proper amount of supplements I need....the whole shabangabang. I'll post my progress as time goes on. Today i'm gonna take a picture of myself and weigh myself. Each weekend i'll took a new picture and weigh myself.

I just wanted Quetz to know of what I plan to do just cause its always nice to have support from friends.

Once I weigh myself I'll update it on here. My goal is to reach 160 - 170lbs. I'm just guessing....but I think I weigh around 145lbs.

---------------------------

Weight: 146

Workout scheduale: Everyday - 50 regular pushups, 10 close-quarters pushups, 10 wide arm pushups, 25 crunches, 20 crunches to the left, 20 crunches to the right / Monday - run 1 1/2 mile / Tuesday - work out chest or back with free weights / Wednesday - run 1 1/2 mile / Thursday - work out arms or legs with free weights / Friday - run 1 1/2 mile / Sunday or Saturday - run 1 1/2 mile

I have a friend who is as skinny as a rake, I'm pretty thin myself, anyway he joined the military almost two years ago and guess what. He weighs 5 pounds more.
If you're born to be skinny, you will be unless you do some unnatural shit.

Yea, I gained a good bit after joining the military and going through boot camp.....but that was about 4 years ago, lol.

I would recommend cutting back on cardio especially since you have problems gaining weight. Also make sure you allow yourself plenty of rest. Doing pushups after a hard day of chest or arm focus can lead to overtraining which will actually canabalize your muscle and possibly lead to eventual injury. Muscle gets bigger after healing. Never allow for healing and it will never get bigger.

Compound lifts are best for gaining size, deadlift, squat, pullups, and bench press are the staples to mass and strength programs. I would think each set should be kept to 6-8 reps. You'll also want to make sure that you are intaking enough calories which can actually be difficult, if gotten through healthy food choices.

A hard gainer friend of mine suggests using a 45/35/20 ratio of carb/protein/fat. He said that gave him good results. Goodluck!

Hehe, I used to work out too for awhile. But, I got lazy and everything and stopped for about 2 months. I'm gonna start working out again too. Goodluck, man.

Also, your schedule right now is pretty good for starting off again when you haven't done anything in a while but, when you grow stronger and you find those exercises are easy I would increase it a lot more so you progress more and it's harder.

Also, sometimes it's good to no workout every day. Let your muscles rest and then start working out again. I was reading something and one guys said for your arms, if you rest them 2 weeks or something and then start working out you'll have more progress letting your muscles rest. Anyway, goodluck on working out. :)

I'm struggling myself to still workout during the winter months Trizzip. All I can say is good luck. One last thought, willpower and determination are wonderful attributes. From everything I've seen about you on the boards, I feel you have them both^^.

Just do your best.

*blushes* Thank you so much Kat.

Well, in a way, the cardio will be essential to me for a different reason and there is no way of getting around that. I understand that I would gain more weight w/o the running but since i'm in the Navy, I have to do a physical fitness test every 6 months and I have to be able to run 1 1/2 mile in a certain time limit.....among other things.

Now that i'm 23 I'm also starting to get a very very small hint of a beer belly.....i'm starting to worry that my metabolism is starting to wear down. I gotta nip that in the bud, especially if what they say about father's to be getting sympathy fat from their wife being pregnet, lol.

Each time I go to the gym, I'm only planning on working out one area....like.....chest. I'll cycle through to give my muscles a chance to heal.

My big thing I need to do now is find out EXACTLY how many of all supplements I need....like protein, amino acids, carbs, blah blah blah.

I'm already planning on taking Creatine Monohydrate (just like I used to back in the day), and I'm already drinking protein shakes.

Also becarefuly not to strain the muscles too much, as they tend to grow slower if you push them too far too fast. I learned this the hard way, pushing it way to far way to fast and ended up weaking my muscles because they just got to tired. I always miss my football days... lol When I ended up getting myself a routine like you have done, things worked out great and I could tack on that extra muscle that I needed in the places I really needed, but still maintained a balance throughout. Just don't overdue it all at once, but you are in the Navy, so you probably know what you are doing.

And I definitely recommend the free weights over machines. Machines guide you too much, and free weights allow you to work extra muscles just by keeping the weights straight lol If you are a klutz though, I recommend machines.

It's genetics to see if you will get big or not, but a good choice for you is to consult your doctor and let him know what you're planning to do. See if he can recommend you a trainer or a program. If not, contact some college professor who specializes in nutrition. Getting big is not so much how much you work out, but the amount and quality of food you are giving your body to get there. I recommend a couple of nutritional experts to a couple buddy and they got in pretty good shape. They gained some mass, while still maintaining their physique. If that doesn't help you...then I guess you can hang out with fat people, and follow their diet. Then work out all that cream into beef.

Well, I used to be a little bigger and did all the stuff I needed to do to get big.......I just havent done that in quite awhile. So, I know what I need to do......the big thing is....can I stick with it this time. We'll see....

I've been eating so much the past two days that I almost feel like i'm gonna puke....but thankfully I stop just in time, lol. Hopefully, as I stretch my stomach out, this will get easier.

I've been doin pretty good so far. I've been taking in roughly around 150 - 160g of protein a day. On Sunday, I'll weigh myself and see where i'm sitting at.

For this week, my weight has gone from 146 to 148!

Ich....I kinda slacked off this past week. I havent weighed myself yet but i'm sure I didnt gain anything this week. I'll weigh in tomorrow morning. :(

For the record, if you want to develop your calves and have fun doing it, DDR is the way to go.

Great job on the 2 lb. weight gain Trizzip!!!!

Sorry I'm crappin' on your thread a tad here, but I just weighed in last nite at Weight Watchers myself. I not only finally broke under 135 lbs., I lost 2.4, and weighed in at 133.8. I also finally beat Steve in total weight loss (he's gained a tad while I've been losing). Anyway, total weight loss to date: 35.2 lbs. me, 34.6 lbs. Steve. I'm beating him by .6 oz^^.

We also started playing volleyball from 7-9 on Wednesdays. I haven't played volleyball for 30 years ... lol ... back when I was a Freshman - Sophmore in High School I was on the girls volleyball team. Needless to say, I was a tad rusty, but I'm still not afraid of the ball and I definitely still go for it. I hit the dirt quite a few times tonight. What a blast!!!! I cannot wait til next Wednesday.

Anyway, good luck to you Trizzip. I'm routin' for ya^^.
