I ask a question... you all get to answer them for me. Deal? Deal. :awesome:

Seriously.... where do you get another backpack slot for this game ;_; I want to try crafting but so far I've been unable to get more slots to eve give it a go. Half of my first tier pack is filled with potions and exclusive crap that gets to sit there for a while, and the rest of them is with salvaging items that I don't know what to do with yet :) Any hints on where to get more room?

Every 10 ranks you get a new bag :)

That could explain why I havent gotten a new bag yet ^o^ Thanks Reya! Greatly appreciate the info~ Now... to actually decide on a critter and stick with them for 10 ranks >.>

You also get more tactics slots every certain amount of ranks. I've got 2 career and 1 renown tactic slot more at 24 (had since 22 I think)

Mastery points are 1 at 11 then 1 every 2 levels to 21 and then 1 every level after that, confusing I know :(. My backpack fills every 20mins with scavenging and killing. I do have like 60g though :D

The items that say "Requires Salvaging"... how does one level that craft?

I cant remember the exact critter... but there are three different types of Salvaging from what I've been able to gather.

Butchering - Takes items from dead critters (wolves, boars, deer and the like)

Salvaging - Takes items from huminoid critters (pull out the gold teef from dead baddies)

Magical Salvaging - Breaks down any green/blue/purple items you find into it's base components for talisman making (and a bit of alchemy things from what I've read.)

That's about all I can tell you, I'm still trying to figure out how I can go about making a freaking talisman >.< oh yea, if any of you are thinking about getting the 'game guide' it's a waste of time unless you want to know every thing about the classes and a general overview of the map. I was hoping it would have some sort of crafting guide lines.

I'm more interested in the Salvaging salvaging then the other 2

Salvaging is performed on items that are rarity of uncommon, rare, or unique (Green, Blue, or Purple's). (Also it seems that belts and back items are not able to be salvaged.) Salvaging an item will break the item. To salvage, open up your Abilities tab, and go to the General tab in it. Click on the Tradeskills, as if you were going to make a potion or a talisman, and then click on salvage. Your cursor will become a hammer, and you can then click on an item that meets the above criteria. At the start of salvaging, you will choose what fragment you would like to obtain. You then start salvaging, which is a 2 second process, and at the end it will be randomly decided if you fail or succeed. If you fail, you will get a couple magic essences, and if you succeed you will get those in addition to a fragment, along with having a chance to raise your Salvaging level.

You can also salvage "Shattered" items to receive essences and a chance to increase your salvaging.

That was taken from the WARwiki

What's the difference between core and the other stuff? I see everyone saying core, but are there any other server types, I'm assuming it's server types, and what do they mean?

Open means you can go down a tier before getting chickened. It also takes away the level boost when in Open RvR areas. Core is the way Mythic wanted the game to be played though.

Also Salvaging is a trainable skill, the other (taking things from dead sentient beings is called Scavenging)

(this is a long shot i know, but...) Do you know who/where I would talk/go to to "open" (for lack of a better word) the Scavenging ability/trait/whatever for a Squig Herder?

Usually by the time you hit your second camp on your map there will be profession trainers there. Most war camps should also have them (places with flight masters). If all else fails, I suppose you could fly to the capital city and find them there :)

Another thing too, which is a frequent question that gets asked around: To get your second set of renown gear you have to buy them from a NPC in a Keep that you own. So take back those keeps! :D

Doing capital city instances increases the wealth and well being of your capital. Which ultimately add to less crime, aggressive NPCs, fixed walls and less dirt. I would like to say that I believe The Protectorate is the first guild on Monolith to contribute to Altdorf, and we're hitting the sewers instance back up this weekend :D

speaking of this thread... maybe we should start a sticky with commonly asked questions and the answers. Seems like most questions in this game are answered with increased rank ups. Might be beneficial for those of us who are not as high yet :)!

There Core, PVP, Roleplay, and PVP-RP servers.

The difference? Probably not much but you'll get killed an ungodly amount of times if you go to a PVP server :awesome:

Yar, the 2nd chapter camp for us Lucki, the trainers are in huts (or tables) when you reach the lumber yard. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see the Alpha and Omega of saw blades.

And that 2nd set of gear is a great boost up! Higher than quite a few of the chapter 2 PQ rewards.

If you want to sticky this one I'll track the common questions asked and edit the first post.

[PetPeeve] There is no PvE and PvP server in WAR. Comparing them to WoW's rulesets isn't viable. There is open world PvP on both Core and Open servers. Open servers merely make everywhere an Open PvP area but you be chickened going down two tiers. So you can go from Tier 2 to 1 but not Tier 3 or 4 to 1 without being chickened.

The 2nd set of gear being referred to isn't the RR stuff available at the Tier 1 warcamps. Reya is referring to the RR set for Tier 2, which is not available in the Tier 2 warcamps, only in a Tier 2 keep owned by your realm. Tier 3's RR set(s) are available from T3 keeps etc.

Things you'll want to know is that Renown gear is pretty much strictly PvP Equipment. On any class you'll see a lot of Initiative and Toughness stat boosts on renown peices. Quested and PQ rewards will always be superior to them for fighting mobs, since they usually provide offensive classes with significantly larger boost to offensive stats while giving very little in the defensive, and vice versa for tanks.

People running around fighting mobs in Renown gear are hurting themselves. In quest/pq reward, I can take down Challenging mobs(+3-4 levels) without burning my action bar completely. Accessories, Belts, and Capes are universal so far though, but as for weapons and the "main" armor items, you really should carry two different sets.

Yup. Unless your a lazy tank who just does PvE in PvP tanking gear. I kill quick enough to not be bored and usually team up for PQs etc. I do have PvP/PvE weapon sets though. I burn AP far too quickly but Chosen seem to have that problem. Luckily with Suppression? which improves my parry rating and I can keep it up constantly, with my tactic I get 75 AP back when I parry so that helps. I can take mobs 5 levels above me with no difficulty though. Just takes a while.

Ahhh that explains it, I was wondering why I was able to get armor with a lot more toughness than I needed from the RvR Warcamp while my PQ Chapter 2 quest gave me armor with ballistics skill for my grot. Unless the mood strikes my fancy I'm happily a PvE critter.

Thanks for clearing up the different servers :)

Question... do they cap out instanced dungeons in this game? Example would be, could a rank 21 enter and participate in an Altdorf Sewer run?
