Next update on EXP

The difference for a lvl 65 to get to 75 is 50K XP between the old and new scale. In terms of level, its only really a difference of being level 75 and being level 75 capped with a 6k XP difference. Overall, its a 6k XP advantage which isnt much at all.

Decided to move this to the flameboard, and just one more quick note, please remember the no post count bumping rule.

Suprised this thread has reached 36 pages, but I read it all, and I decided it should stay open for discussion, seeing as a majority of people are still downloading the patch and such, I'm still waiting to see the real change in the XP system for myself. I'm not a high level, and I really never did plan to be one, so while I do welcome the change, I can sort of understand why level 75's would be upset by this.

Anyway, just wanted to make a quick reply, and just letting you all know if you got something to say, please contribute to the topic, just don't simply come in here to bash someone and thats it, this thread has potential IMO, I hope it doesn't become one that I'll have to lock.

75's do already have their rewards. If you haven't done anything with 75, why would anyone expect you to have done something with it if you had the xp reduction? So you want reparations for doing nothing with your level 75 job while claiming that you would have done something with it if it would have been easier? Or do you simply want to stave off people getting to where you are because you hope to do something with something you've done nothing with thus far?

Either way, you've gotten your reward pre-update unless you leveled from 1 to 75 last week. If you've been 75 for months or years, there's your reward. The new players will never have that. Whether you're happy with your reward is up for debate and dependent on person to person, but if you want paid for something you didn't do but should have, would have, and could have...things just don't work like that. If you busted your balls getting to 75 and haven't been using your reward for that, that's tough cookies. You were offered your reward and didn't take it. Now you want paid, and it's too late. You had as much as 2 years to enjoy your reward that was you. At 75. Being 75. Doing 75.

Unless you leveled to 75 in hopes of demanding reparations for every post-ding update your entertainment developers made, this is all more than a little silly. The reward you're missing is that when you get to 75 earlier, you're 75 longer.

Quoted for emphasis.

Here's one that does make sense.

Why can't you just be proud of the fact that you got XXX# of experience in the time you played? Why does SE have to justify it for you? Nobody's taking away the fact you got that amount of experience. Get over it guys....

IMO that quote makes no sense whatsoever.
no this post makes no sense what so ever.
By quoting you I was saying that it was a damn good post and I agree with you. No need to act like an ass. Then again some people dont need a reason.

Nonono, you have me all wrong.
Your quoting it is fine. I'm glad you agree.

I simply make no sense half the time to anyone but me. I should have done a better job now that I read it.

Who said that I'd done nothing? I've been going on Dynamis twice a week, doing HNM's, helping people with quests. I said that I hadn't gotten anything special from being 75. I can wear my relic maul, great, but I'm not going to upgrade it so that's pointless. I was actually wrong before, when I hit 75, I coudl start using reraise 3.

Don't make blatant assumptions, if there is a "hey you're 75" reward, I haven't seen it yet. With the exception of merits, there is nothing special about being 75. Maybe when you get there you'll see that.

I'm not talking about 75 the specific level. I'm talking about beastmasters soloing for harpes. I'm talking about 6 member parties taking down million dollar mobs, and duos whipping aquarius. I'm talking farming in Lufaise with absolute immunity. Stealing gold coins and then soloing the mob who dropped it. Dynamis. God runs. Optical runs. Relics. Missions. Quests. Linkshells. Friends. Connections. Fame. Assets. That level 75, not merit point 75.

I'm not talking about the difference between 74 and 75. That's silly. I'm talking about the difference between 60 and 75.

If you got to lvl 75 before the exp per lvl slash, put lvl 75+1 in your bazaar message, 8)

I'm level 58 (stated once again, and obvious in my sig) and I do not like the changes. They do benefit me actaully, since now it wont take as long to level up, but I was looking foward to that time to be honest. I can level whenever I want. I really isnt that hard, nor was it that hard before the update. Sometimes there are those days when you spend a long time waiting, it happens. I deal with that and am usually rewarded with a good partying experience and even if the party isn't so stellar I have a saying to make myself feel better. "Any exp is good exp."

Though I won't deny awesome parties make for a much more enjoyable experience.

Not to sound selfish, but I'm trying to save up 2 mil to buy a hauby (haubergeon sp?) and I've never ever had that much gil at one time before. It's hard enough just saving up the gil, so when I make this purchase it's for a few different and important reasons.

1) It's a must have for Dark Knights, it's lvl 59 to wear and while some Drks wait till lvl 60 before saving up for this I want it as soon as I can wear it. I always have my gear before I level... I like to be prepared.

2) There isn't anything better other than the +1 version and considering the price is double the NQ.. I'm not waiting that damn long to save up gil, i've been waiting long enough and unless someone magically hands me an extra 2 mil, getting a hauby +1 anytime soon is a dream, obtaining the NQ sooner is much more of a reality.

3) (and to tie into the level spectrum here) The hauby is good from lvl 59-68. At 69 is the Hauberk, higher level version essentially the same item with higher defense. (dont remember exact stats) From 59-68 are or atleast were crutial stages in the game and generally took some time to get through. This was good though, as it would have made the 2 mil purchase seem a lot more worthwhile, and id be able to get the most out of my gear for quite a long time before having to upgrade and spend even more of a rediculas amount of gil on the next best peice of eq needed.

But now it's not quite the same. Sure, I am still going to get the hauby. I need it if im going to level and do the best I can, but it isn't going to last nearly as long because it's even easier to level through what used to be a crucial stage. The old exp system took more time, but because it did One could learn more about the abilities they were gaining in these times. Learn to better know what to do in certain instances because they had more experience in them.

I feel almost cheated that I won't even be able to get all that experience now. Experience others that have already past that point may have, and I may or may not be able to fully get the same experiences or hone my skills quite as much, because now it takes less time.

It doesn't even really matter now if the party I join ends up being awful, okay, or fantastic. Infact, a fantastic party means faster exp (which is good yes) but also means I may be missing out on really testing my skills in varied parties like before just because im in one that's really zooming. That's part of the partying experience, that's part of the experiencing the game to me. Understanding all the different parties and people mechanics. Playing and enjoying all that, it won't last as long now. Not on one job anyway. I wan't to enjoy my one job to the fullest before moving foward with another, but how much experience (and I dont mean Exp) cant I gain if the partying sessions can zoom through levels faster now.

Do you understand this feeling? This is how I feel, and it isn't as good as before.. but maybe I can get past it. I dunno.
