Nightmare/Atmosfear

[Zephayra]

I've been thinking about this game lately and I was curious if anyone else remembers/played it.

It was a video board game called Nightmare (then later repackaged in the US as Atmosphere), where 3-6 players travel around a gameboard, with a video 'host' who came on randomly during the 1 hour play time to reward, taunt or punish players. The original host was The Gatekeeper, and additional sets could be bought, which had different hosts such as Baron Samedi The Zombie, Anne the Witch, Elizabeth Bathory the Vampire, and etc.

It was released in the early 90s, and I guess they've turned it into a DVD board game now.

I played the Gatekeeper, Baron Samedi, Witch and Elizabeth Bathory sets. It was pretty fun and I just wonder how many other people played this as well.

I have the original VHS board game lying around somewhere.
The picture of the baby scares the shit out of me still.

My sister and I had the original, the Baron Samedi one, and the Atmosphere game. We had tons of fun playing these. Now I'm going to have to find it.

yes i have played that game before. when i was in the Marine Corps my friend don invited me over to his GF's house. she asked if we played before and we stayed up all night with the gatekeeper yelling at us. it freaked us out cause the guy seemed to be able to predict what we were talking about. Don spent most of his time in the black hole though.

I played that game, god, I think I had to have been like, 10 or 11 years old. The gatekeeper cracked me up when he referred to "The Old One" (The player who was the oldest).

[Dejavu]

never played it... seems interesting tho.

Baron Samedi was my favourite. I think I may invest into the DVD collection or something. I'm glad other people remember it, yay.
