As 80% of you know who were just online about 20 minutes ago, we crashed due to server complications.

I had joined a party, led by Nikas a thief. As you all know we were down about 20 minutes and couldn't get online. Not only I had crashed but the bard Foxmire. So we finally get back online, I send Nikas a /tel saying I'm back, and he comes back with, "They didn't wait to wait any longer, so I found a replacement for you." At first I was like okay, fine good luck. Well then I see that Foxmire is back online. Check a few minutes later, and he's in the party. Now I'm pissed to beat all hell.

I know this is just a game, but, in the first place, had I known the server crashed I would've waited a helluva lot longer in the first place for ALL my members. Secondly, if my original party member came back before all other members had, I sure as hell, would've sent the replacement to that original member a /tel and said, I'm sorry to that person NOT the one who dc'd by the act of FFXI server problems. It would have been one thing if not all members had dc'd and it was just myself alone. But when you have half the party dc and don't wait for all members, I'm calling it pretty damn shitty indeed.

In closing, I'd like to say that Nikas repeatedly laughed about the whole situation and didn't give two shits about me saying I was goin' to post this on the FB.

Anyway, just wanted to give a word of warning the guy doesn't care about anything, anyone but getting his xp and screw everyone else in the process.

Am I wrong in thinking this way? I'll let y'all post your responses, and decide from there. Again, if I would have been in the same situation, I would've told the replacement I'm sorry, our original member dc'd due to server issues and she's back now. Sorry to waste your time.

The flaw being in that they're waiting even longer since they now have to wait on your replacement to get there rather than just pick you up again. He's an ass.

I tend to wait only 10 mins~ Normally most ppl dont even come back after that long. If everyone else left, maybe he wanted an excuse to get a different job. ;/

Firstly Tep, it was a total server crash, not just people dcing. Big difference. I know there were at least 2 of us who totally crashed.

Secondly, it was the perfect party setup: whm, blm, brd, nin, war, thf. He replaced me with another war.

If you're in a party and you have good players in it, it's always better to wait a fair amount of time before replacing. Let's face it, good players are a 50/50 gamble at best, and sometimes they seem pretty rare. Nothing stinks worse than a poor replacement. Posts here make Kat sound like she's at least better than average at her jobs, after all, you don't get a good name around here by sucking. If I had a good melee in a pickup party, that's not the one I'd be too fast to replace. Whether Nikas was right or wrong to replace so quickly is really hard to say - depends a lot on what the rest of the party was demanding. He was still kind of foolish for turning away a proven good member.

I'm confused. If it was a 'total server crash' why did the whole party not get kicked off for 15-20 mins also? If it was just a couple members gone for at least 15 mins, I would replace them if I see someone available.

Kay, sorry Rones let me clarify. It was a total server crash for 80% of the quetzy server. For some reason about 20% of the server didn't crash. I know for a fact in this party situation at least 2 of us dc'd, myself and Foxmire the bard. I'm not sure if the other 4 did or not. Nikas did say that they had dc'd, but they were able to get online before us. Whether it's because of where we live or whatnot, I cannot honestly say. Point is, he also dc'd, knew it was a server crash, and started replacing right away.

I understand that part. I'm not pissed about the fact he replaced me if it had been under normal circumstances. Point is, I got back online even before the bard did and he had already replaced me. IF it had been me, I would've explained the situation to the replacement, NOT the original member. It wasn't the original members fault the damn quetzy server crashed.

In other words, had my cable gone out and I was replaced, it would be totally understandable, but the 80% of the server went down. That's why I'm upset.

He didn't come back for 30-45minutes.

We obviously replaced him within 15min.

He had no frets about it....

I was in a party myself at the time. All at once 3 of our members got the red dot of doom and vanished. It was a good party and we could see throughout the server alot of people had gotten booted as well. We ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes, 2/3 came back, tried to fight with five, then myself and the original two got booted mid fight causing our RDM to die (sorry Arigon ; . Then we just called it quits. What I don't get is why did he pick up the BRD and not you? Everyone seemed to log in within 5 minutes of eachother. (Since the server went from only 1400 people online to 3000+ in a matter of a few minutes)

It sounds like he was just hungry for more damage out put (since he replaced you with a WAR) and used the server crash as an excuse. Although ultimatly, he just prolonged everyone's wait. I.E. Idiot. You have every right to feel the way you do. =(

And did you have the other 5 members still online Dowzer? My point being, the party I was in did not. There were still 2 of us missing. Again, I got back online before the replacement was there. Also, let's say he did wait the 15 minutes. I was back online within 20. The replacement still couldn't have gotten there within that time. I'm already there.

Anyway, I just feel it was pretty shitty.

He was probably looking for a replacement refresher and thought "SCORE!" when the BRD came back because he couldn't find another one. WAR at that level are usually counted as melee (especially with a NIN tank) so your spot was probably filled rather quickly. Kinda lame if you ask me. Almost as lame as the people that die and refuse to get anything but a R3 and by the time one gets to the camp, they would have made back their EXP + some if they had just taken a R1 right away

Sorry for the pc +1, but has anyone ever heard of him? Supposedly he says he's a lvl 75 Samurai. He was rank 10, but hell we all know that doesn't mean squat anymore.
