So I elected myself to be the NIN in my CoP static. Kind of a dumb idea since I'm one of those people who always complains about being poor, but that's beside the point.

At 40, elemental wheel is god. At 60, going balls-out DD and sticking with Blade: Jin is god. That sound about right?

So, from 40-60, tool usage is at a premium. How many bags per hour should I expect to use? Note that I will have a static THF for the entire stretch, a nicely equipped one who knows what he's doing. Does having a THF overrides the need for a wheel spam?

Also, Nikkariaoe. How long can it be offhanded? 41, 46, 48?

Good luck. :)
Start from 37 with a stack of toolbags for each tool.
That's probably around as much as you'll need. You can sell back what ya don't use or just buy more if need be.

I never used that katana, so I dunno when to retire it.
I used the level 39 (RA) katana and a level 32 +1, and level 41 +1 with it for a while. Retired both at 46 for dual yoto +1s. Picked up one sai at 48, and a buboso at 50. Retiring sai when I get to the drain effect katanas.

Ni wheel is always good, but focus on shadows. That comes second.
Evasion and AGI gears prominent.

I'm doing the same for CoP.

good luck. elvaan woman stance on a nin is sooooooo hideous... *remembers creaativ*

anyways as an elvaan in general, you can hold hate by maximizing acc and landing your hits, because you generally will hit hard. i never really had to spam elemental wheel to hold good hate, even without a thief, if you have good gear. :)

although, i will say, elemental wheel is the surpreme way to hold hate.

Yeah I haven't had a THF, or at least, I haven't had a good THF yet.
Only issues I have had with hate is when the MNKs do Hundred Fists or are otherwise Godly. ^^
Even then, you can still get hate back with some work.

How long did a stack of each last you? I'm sure I could get to 41-42 at least on that much, maybe longer with Mot as my THF.

Only reason I'm trying to get numbers for tools is so I can get my loving static members to start crafting their asses off. Stockpile as much as I need for now, get to 50, stockpile again, lather rinse repeat.

Funny you should mention that Neo, last night someone was going off on how hot elvaan chicks look during ninjutsu cast. Standing pose is a little dumb, but man you should see them with a GA. Now THAT is ugly.

You'll want to stick paralyze, blind, and slow every fight. Para and slow seem to stick a lot better than a RDM or WHMs version. You may need to soften the mob up with an elemental spell before casting enfeebles if you find the mobs are resisting.

If you have the gil, I'd go with elemental wheel at the start of each fight, maybe a second wheel if hate wasn't secured or if I felt like dealing more damage. Being that you are in a static you'll probably be in ideal leveling places for the level. I used Squid sushi for agi, and used agi rings. Favorite targets for nin are crawlers, beetles, and crabs since you can dumb them down easily.

Some mobs, elemental wheel are useless, so voking a lot is important. I had 2 blm's double bursting before with no THF and didn't have any problems with hate, so I don't think you will either. I used to macro the emnity ring and earring, till I figured out they were worthless to me and sold them.

and ya, elvaan chicks are fugly.

NIN @ 40: Elemental wheel = hate, damage, everything, the great win. Just try not to think about how much you're spending while doing it, you'll start crying. Don't forget your other spells, though.

NIN @ 50: Slow / Blind : Ni are supremely effective enfeebles, Paralyze is good for initial hate if your RDM doesn't cast it first, and Dokumori: Ichi (poison) is a -very- effective hate tool. Elemental wheel still kicks ass.

NIN @ 60: Forget the wheel, it either gets resisted or does less than your katanas (assuming you're in full DD setup), and spellcasting time = that much longer until your next Blade: Jin. Use the enfeebles for initial hate, and let your katanas do the rest of the work.

I heard that Nikkariaoe (sp?) is only good until you get Ni, but I personally think it'd be useful as an offhand til at least 41.

Oh that's asking for it. I suggest blindfolding yourself for the next Dynamis run.

okay, so, this holds somewhat true. monks will own you. i partied with several PLDs who couldnt hold a candle of hate to me as a monk, it really sucked. it reminds me of when i use to party on my NIN with marioni.. great DD and id so get owned, lol

Jackolanterns are still good food for you @ your current level. acc+10,evasion+10.

Eventually you will outgrow it, but it's a pretty good option low-mid levels.

Squid sushi is a good for when you're too high for jackos, but too low to be able to use the full greatness of sole sushi. By this I mean, your melee will improve, but doesn't start really becoming 'completely' worthwhile until 60/61/65/66 , but you're not asking about post 60.

Squid is a great midlevel food for ninja though, gives a little agi to help out, although it's no 10 evasion. But you will actually sport great acc to help with the DoT/hate you need and chances of repeating chain 5/6s. Not to mention the underrated 5 or 6 dex that comes with the sushi. Ninjas crit tons, only 2nd to <Thief>.

I spammed the wheel from 40 to 60 hard and handled just about anything, including skilled but smart blms. It was our static monk maku with cross counters that gave me hell, especially after unleashing a big raging fists. And it wasn't until 60 with Jin that I had a WS to cancel that hate out. With mot as your thief, you won't have to worry about hate if you use tools, not even from galka monks with cross counters!

I personally like durado suchi when i'm in a standard part set up as nin. gives acc and eminity. i've got plenty of evasion and agi from gear i dont car about the agi and dex from squid. If its a double ninja group or a competent thf i'll probably go sole suchi.

but all through 37-60 it was nothing but durado that i used.

elemental wheel is good till you hit crabs then it starts sucking. i am taru so maybe it helped me a lil more. now i'm 63 and i rarely use ninjitsue except to set up for a mb off the skillchain. i also used raton(sp) to set up for my blade: chi for extra damage ^^

GL to ya, i hated ninja before 37 then i just sorta didn't wana stop
