Alright I went to the dunes with 3 stacks of tools for blink tanking and I'm almost lvl 19 with only like 20 to spare. I have a question when it comes time to lvl in qufim how many stacks do you think i should bring with me? I just enough to wear I can get to 25 without running to jeuno to buy more. I was thinking 3 stacks but then again thats what I brought with me to the dunes to lvl from 15 to 20, lol.

Whenever I plan on blink tanking I carry 3-4 stacks of Shihei and 1 stack of Tonko for invis.

If I am not gonna blink I try to carry my debuffs also whenever I can blink tank or not.

NIN is alot more than just blinking they are very supportive to magic users also.

Mo...

I agree with Mo. NIN can set em up while the BLM knocks em down.

I take many stacks f shihei with me. Enough so that I don't have to ask for them from anyone.

Personally, I use them liberally. I'd bring more than 3 stacks if you are planning on leveling from 19-25 without making another trip to Jeuno.
I plan on a stack per level. You should have extra, but if you plan that way, you will not run out.

Do you have all the (or most of the) Gobbibag's done? NIN requires quite a lot of inventory space for all their tools and throwing items (etc).

I usually carry around 3+ stacks with me. I usually use a half to a whole stack depending on how long the party lasts, and whether I'm tank or DD (although this is applying to my WAR/NIN). The Gobbiebags help a lot. I'd like to get Gobbiebag V, but it's still soooo expensive for the items.

1.5 stack per level minimum.

Depending on how good/bad your pt is you can rarely use it or burn through it like lemonade on a july afternoon. Also carrying at least 2 of the elemental spells (Huton and Hyoton are the most preferred) will get you by well :) 1 stack of elemental will get you through.... 1-2 levels depending on how often you use it. tonko isnt needed in quifm, well theres giants but you should be able to avoid those if you have any skill ;P

lol i dont need tonko anyways been to Qufim far too many times to actually need anything to avoid aggro there lol.

I wouldn't listen to the recomendations of xxx number of stacks per level. As you gain levels, the amount of xp you need also increases, therefore the amount of shihei you need will also increase per level.

I found a good rule of thumb is 1.5 stacks of shihei per hour of xp. This amount may be even more than you need. Lately I found that I use about 4 stack of shihei for 3 hours of xp (this is post Utsusemi: Ni). You can probably get away will less pre Ni.

Let's not forget, it depends how much your pt sucks or not, if you can't take down the enemy as fast, youll have to use more tools, hense more tanking, yes? when i was ninja, this might not helpful of course, because i only leveled my ninja to 18, i used more tools in other parties fight the same mobs because they had other setups or new players, you see? it all depends of various things, so yes to be on the safe side bring 3-4 stacks, you should be safe for another trip to jueno,
