NIN tanking in K Osode

Sing double haste then?

Just get a pld, 3 nins, no brd. meat, sushi, no food (nins swap foods/no food after they wear off) and similar gear. Choose a mob that has no blink, blind or def boost tp moves.

Like I said, if you don't sing madrigal, then the ninja who is eating meat will suffer from shitty accuracy.

That would be a completely pointless test, since the bards are supposed to make up for your food choice.

The problem with that setup is that if you have a bard playing madrigal, then the ninja using sushi is obviously going to miss out on most of the effect of the song. The same would be true for not singing madrigal, the meat ninja would be hindered.

true, i knew that would come into play, i just want to see the differences in acc %'s that a nin could possibly get. It would be nice to know that sushi + madrigal gets you to the acc cap. so you could gear down a bit with some more attack pieces. etc etc.

sounds like the whole spectrum should be tested. songs + food + gear.

When BRD gets the next job boost, it should be able to do single target songs. That would allow the BRD to hit madrigal and minuet on proper targets without changing too many variables for the test. Would work best with two bards, puller can probably do double march while backline BRD does the respective madrigal/minuet to keep a steady stream of mobs/exp.

I don't think the similar gear thing works. Setting player gears aside for a minute(not everyone has the top hq gear or merits), but a person eating meat will put on more acc than a person eating sushi. Using same gear, one person is going to be at a disadvantage. Not everyone is able to pull off using meat.

I've been using my same gear, no adjustments at all.

then there's no point to 'test' it, if we are going to have 3 of the same job with the same DD merits, then of course its going to come down to luck, gear, and food choice. isnt that obvious? there's nothing to test anyways bof mentioned to me he wouldnt want to 'gimp' his gear down lol.

Same, I go for primarily haste and then equip what I consider to be the best piece for that slot. In some instances, I either cannot afford or cannot get that particular piece (perdu...), I'll go for the next best piece, but for me, most pieces are not really choices between attack and accuracy, it's one or the other. The only pieces off the top of my head is Bomblet vs. Bomb Core and PCC vs. 7 Katana skill torque and I personally think there isn't much contest to which is better. The only actual change I make is for Colibri, I use Hauby+1 over AF body and in those cases, I am rarely afforded Madrigal because all the other melee tend to be two handers.

Side Note: Colibri are the only time I ever use meat on NIN and I often find myself to be in the minority doing so. Someone recommended it on QCDN to use mithrabobs, I tried it, it works great and is far cheaper than buying sole for a standard party (for the cheapies). So at the very least, everyone should have a decent idea how their accuracy is with meat.

my comment was for those people who are saying use same gear between meat and sushi guy.

Hmm i was just wondering.. the main thing is to test how brd song will affect the food you eat right? that mean that the only variant should be the brd song. So supposedly u want to try double attack song, attack + march song , attack + acc song.

Basically you get a party with two ninja in it and a bard. Firstly there is no need for a ninja control. Our main aim is to see which will be more efficient.. eating meat or sushi will definitely be better than not eating anything (even if it is a meager different). Secondly the two ninja must not be the first provoker Thirdly, the other DD must have constant output and also cancel their song for all three fight.

This experiment should be conducted three times. For the first time, the bard will sing double attack song. For the second experiment, the bard will sing attack + march song. For the third experiment, the bard will sing attack + accuracy song. Have a parser for each experiment. And the result will be obvious.

The main reason was doing this three different set of song because this 3 set of songs is the most common used by bards. The rest of the melee beside the two ninjas have to CANCEL out their song. It is to make sure that their damage output is CONSTANT.

The time for each experiment must be exactly the same (e.g 1hr for each experiment) and it will be best if it is the exact party. This is necessary to make sure that you are able to compare the result from the experiment one, two and three. For e.g let presume that it is a burn party with non-stop fighting. So within a 1hr time frame, the total damage output will be like 90k giving a SE of 1k (presume). So presumably experiment 1 (double attack song) , Meat nin score a 10k damage and sushi ninja score a 20k damage with total damage of 120k. Than experiment 3 ( attack + acc song) , meat ninja score a 15k damage and sushi did a 5k damage with a total damage of 110k. but utimately we can see that double attack song + sushi ninja will give the best result. (Since the two ninja in experiment three is doing less output than the experiment one ninja.)

Personally I will agree with having same merit and gear if your main aim is to test the efficency of the songs with food. But if you are out to test how your gear/merit/food combo can affect the song, I do not see the need to keep it constant.

Hope i planned it out correct. Correct me if I have some error in it.

You can't cancel songs.

The gear/merits needs to be constant, because if my gear gives me 20 more attack, or 20 more accuracy; that will skew the results and render them meaningless. If they have more haste than the other ninja, then their total damage will go up.
