This thread is one gungnir and one amano short of a great night for me.

Not quite sure what your trying to imply.

Dino and Phraust? That, or, I have no idea what I'm talking about. Either is possible.

And On-Topic: Do whatever you want with whatever you have, but blowing it up in peoples faces to troll and/or be a complete attention whore, well that's just sad for you.

You probably made $500 maybe $700 tops for 4, 5? years of work. :)
Now that is some awesome quick cash dude!
Knowing that I make that in 1 week at my normal job.

Anyway, bubye.

not only is your dick huge but you cant read apparently.

Fine I can't read, at least I aint a total dick like some trolls totally getting off on other people's comments.

Once again, bye.

Absolutely stunning comeback.

i helped them every bit as much as they helped me and honestly more or my friends were just as well off as i was. and fuck the community, the average final fantasy player is too dumb to comprehend the game (or in some cases they are just plain retarded; see Myrrh) why should i care what they think of my selling my account and gil?

i botted for them every bit as much as they botted for me and honestly more or my friends were just as fucking bad at this game as i was. and fuck everyone I got what I wanted and nobody is more important that me, the average PP/Lactating titties/Absolutelyshit/whatever you will call yourselves next week member is too dumb to comprehend just about any aspect of life including me(or in some cases they are just plain retarded; how do i tie shoe laces again?) why should i care what they think of my selling my account that'll be banned shortly anyway, which is the real reason I'm seling it in the first place. See you in a week on a mule! Or maybe I'll just hang around the boards and post useless pc+1s now and again like Necrosis and Demetrios even though both transferred off quetz and quit the game, I want to be cool like them!

You're welcome.

Why is it when someone ends up selling their account, people always throw out the assumption that they did it because that had to? Or that it was the soul purpose of playing FFXI - To level a job and/or craft for 4-5 years, and then sell it for $500! The best money making scheme evar!

People do it because they're done playing it, and can. You ever buy a single player game, play it for a few months, then sell it to a second hand gaming store, or trade it in for a discount on a new game? Kind of the same thing really. You don't NEED that $5 to buy a new game, but hey, who's saying no to a free $5?

And for the folks who think he's slapping his friends in the face for selling a character loaded with gear they helped him get; what's the difference? He can either A) quit and delete the character, which means all that work is gone. Or he can B) sell it for some quick cash, and all the work is still gone. Both options end the same, and one makes your buddy a few bucks to go do whatever with. I couldn't care less either way.

I don't think that was at all what Shirai was saying, but what ever floats your boat.

I am. I am saying no and many others are too. I want to be able to, at my leisure, pick up said game and play it at any time. Should I leave this game, I would leave my character to a friend or simply deactivate and reactivate when I want to or not at all. Just because you're "done" doesn't mean you have to give the people that are hurting this game another paycheck. It's wrong, point blank.

So instead of giving the RMT yet another leg up, he could quit the game just like most people do and move on? Wow, who wants to do that!? What people probably meant by the 'Why not give it to your friends' point was probably along the lines of "Hey, let your friends use that crafting skill to make THEM some hardcore gil". Try thinking past the distance your nose is from your face and maybe you'll begin to understand.

Oops, sorry Morwen

I don't think that was at all what Shirai was saying, but what ever floats your boat.

Of course it was, hense the remark about how awesome his job is.

Granted, some people hang onto their games forever after they've beat them. Some sell them back. Preference thing. Also, 9 tried giving his friends his account, myself included. We don't need it. Most of us have a 100 craft, and many of us already have secondary accounts.

And the real enemy here is those damn dirty gil buyers! As long as someone is willing to buy something, there is always going to be someone willing to sell it to them.

As per Morwen implies, that is not what I mean.
I'm giving a cheap shot at calling him cheap for selling 5 years of 'work' (or playtime, have it your way) for a quick $500.
It's not that I did not expect him to do this eventually anyway.

Just funny that you 'mister calm and composed always abiding the rules' of all people steps up to defend him.

Is it?
The single player game disk belongs to you so it's yours to do with as you please.
As far as the game itself goes however, that remains property of the original developer until it's copyright expires and is not renewed.
License however in many cases permits you to resell the original disk and original content.

If he were to sell his original ffxi disks... meh who cares.
The disks are his to rip, copy, burn, freeze, use as toilet paper, whatever.
All he has to do is explain to the buyer why the registration codes are already linked to a Content ID.

However as per the ToS of Square enix:

SEI hereby grants you the limited, personal, nonexclusive, non-transferable, revocable license during the term of this Agreement to install and use the Licensed Software only on and in connection with a single piece of Hardware. This license does not include any grant of property rights to you.

YOU DO NOT OWN YOUR ACCOUNT OR CHARACTER OR HAVE ANY PROPERTY RIGHTS TO YOUR CHARACTER OR ITS VIRTUAL ASSETS. YOU MAY NOT SELL, RENT, OR REPRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER OR ITS VIRTUAL ASSETS FOR ANY COMMERCIAL PURPOSE.

To be found under the software license agreement.
Somewhere half way.

I don't know how you guys call it, but we Dutch have a term for selling stuff that is not the property of the seller without permission from the original owner.
Oh, and at least here that is a crime. ;)

People just get away with it (for now) because SE decides not to follow and take legal action against the sellers (yet) in the countries where SE does have offices.

Then there is the little community thing.

As per Audino's quote:
but I'm pretty embarassed that I shared a shell with RMT.

Typical Shirai style "don't do that cause it's bad!" post.

You're one of the biggest whiners I've ever met. Justice for all on the internet! I could take you more seriously if you could honestly say you've never done anything dishonest, or made a buck off of someone that wasn't 100% legit.

But since I know you troll forums while you're on the clock at work as often as I do, you kind of become hard to take serious.

And the real enemy here is those damn dirty gil buyers! As long as someone is willing to buy something, there is always going to be someone willing to sell it to them.

So people selling dope to kids are ok too? I mean, its the buyers fault!

Kind of an extreme comparison, but it does prove the point. Drug dealers know they're going to jail if they get caught, but they also know people are gonna buy the garbage and it's easy money, so they roll the dice. (No, I don't condone selling drugs to kids, I'm just saying, you can't have sellers without buyers.) And to be fair, the buyers go to jail too when caught!

But anyway yeah, selling your password for a FFXI character to a wealthy, lazy gamer, isn't exactly the same as selling heroine to a 13 year old. But I see what you did there!

i was hoping this would get better by the time i woke up
