i'm a 28nin almost 29, while its ok its very frustrating the try and tank mandies >.< i'm so sick of it i wish i didn't have the lvl it for sub job

anyways, the point is. so many people enjoy ninja, as of right now i plan on stoping the second i ding 37 ;) does it get better after ni? i mean, i count my shadows, i have evasion gear, melee gear, i use my ninjitsues. but hold hate sucks and is very difficult. i can manage the hold it most of the time with blind and slow and paralyze but its just a huge pain in the ass >.< cause blink is gone so fast i can't keep it up.

any tips on what i'm doing wrong or if this job ever gets funner. the funny thing is, even though my ninja is gimped on my rdm, i can tank key hunting and what not just fine. and i handle blinking farly well. so tips please {Help me out!}

Ninja aren't supposed to tank multihitters like mandies. That could be your first problem. (But it's sorta obvious, you're going to have a bugger of a time trying to tank something that tears through shadows.)

All the ninja I've partied with liked the job, so I would think that it does get better.

Make your own party and go somewhere that isn't the Jungles for your own sanity purposes.

Could you move onto Sahagins, pugils and eventually crabs outside and in sea serpent Grotto? Those would make things a little easier.. Double Attack makes a ninja look so bad.

I like ninja, although it is only at 25. However, many of my friends that have played ninja seem to love it. They think geting the Ni spells really make the job more fun.

A nin pree 37, should always have another war/nin or nin/war imo...
Bouncing hate is the way to go when only Ichi is available...

And to answer your question regarding if it gets easier/fun after lv40...
(When you hit lv40 you get all elementalspells:Ni.)
YES!
Yes omg yes, it's so frikkin funny!
If played correctly and timed well you will have 11 shadows in a row, and with a little luck you have evaded some punches meaning you'll have another 4 comming from Ni.
Holding hate as a nin can be very frustrating, my tip is have a thf with you at all times.
Or let your dd's in your party know that you infact have quite a long /recast-timer on your spells and that provoke is your main hate-controller.

Ninja is the funniest job sofar, but the downside is the cost, it's soo expensive so make sure to have alot of money to back it up.

at least i'm almost done with the jungles :) money isn't an issue since i can already craft some of the tools, and i have a stable income. yeah, i thought it had to get funner, i sit there as blm and watch those ninja's and it looks like a kick ash time but when i sit down with mine i just get pissed off cause in 6-8 attacks (cause i evade a lot) my shadows are gone and still have 5 seconds till recast.

hmmm. well a few more lvls with my blm then i do plan on playing ninja for awhile, i'll test it out till 40 see if it changes for me. if so, well we all know what i'll be lvling next ;)

You will not regret it.
^^

Just avoid tanking things like mandies, monk type mobs, triple bats, and goblins(to an extent).

Imo, since the ninja update, pre level 37 NIN just sorta sucks for being any type of tank anymore, but there is some nice new +emnity and +defense armors that have been implemented to counter that. And well, it also stinks that the "normal" xp mobs to fight up to 37 are really mobs you shouldnt be fighting, like mandy for 7(?) levels at least.

As its been mentioned, make your own party, find some pugils/crabs/fat bats with a duo tank, and youre set.

At 37, Ni is a nice addition that makes tanking easier, but it is not that dramatically different. You just blink more, and you normally won't run out of time to blink. This means you can keep hate alot easier, since you won't be getting hit after your 3-6 shadows are down.

just tired of looking like a shitty ninja, cause my blinks wear off and then the whm spam cures me and steals my hate i had developed. drives me nuts the have a ninja in party that plays "cheapyly" and holds shitty hate. i use lots n lots of tools and good gear the get my hate, but it doesn't do me any good when i'm just gonna get cure spammed on me half way through the fight {/sigh} which is why this is frustrating to me lol.

Thank you for the inspiring words :) can't wait for *cough* garbage citadel now ^^ siege bats seem like a good companion to what your saying, and i think i can single tank just fine not getting double hit ;) since i was holding ichi till about 5-10 seconds on recast usually. boy this has me excited now lol. go go 75 blm ninja awaits you ;)

In kaz, just focus on DD and straight tank them past the first 2 shihei. You don't need to be a blink tank in kazham for the whole fight. Anyone with provoke can be a tank in Kazham--that's why people go there. Mandies shouldn't last long enough to get more than 4 hits on you with 2 shihei per mandy. Just relax, and when your two shihei are spent, just keep fighting and provoking. Get some defense gear. You're not a blink tanker yet.

Btw, one thing I forgot to mention.
When I lvld up to 40 I rarely used elementalmagic...
I just debuffed, focused on shadows and voke-timer.

A little edit:
I did not use the elementalspells because they take up
vital time for me to do dmg melee-wise. Use eva-gear,
but do not neglect atk/acc/str-gear to much.
When mobs are blinded/paralyzed/slowed I find more
then +20 evasion overrated. (If you use jack-o's you
get another +10 evasion, wich is nice at lower lvls.)
