I picked up a Nintendo DS and a copy of "Super Mario 64 DS" today. I'm liking this machine very much. I have a PDA, so the stylus isn't new to me, but the imaginative ways it's implemented are.

I've been having a lot of fun playing the mini-games. It reminds me of the first time I played "Ape Escape" and realized how much potential analog controllers have.

My GBA has an Afterburner, but seeing how cleanly lit the DS screen is almost makes me want to weep in joy. Very crisp, very bright.

My little gadget freak heart feels sated for now. I understand why Sabia has been gushing over it. Anyone else out there have one yet?

YAY!!!

/hugs Halifirien!!

Welcome to the light Pokemon Master :D

I SOOOOO WANT ONE! but im waiting after I beat both Kingdom Hearts: chains of memory and FF1 and 2. I dont want to play them on DS and look dumb cause I bought a new system to play 2d games.

I never played the N64 version of the Mario game, so it's all new to me. I've been spending more time on some of the mini-games than I have on the main game.

The Metroid demo is pretty nice, too. I like how the stylus makes it feel like you're using a mouse in a first-person shooter.

Now if they'd just release Animal Crossing DS, I could be truly happy. I'm hoping it'll have a bunch of SNES games hidden away in its depths, like all the classic NES games were in the Gamecube version. One of the first things I noticed about the DS was the addition of X and Y buttons. SNES ports should be much easier to do now.

Warioware on the Nintendo DS is going to be the best

Today I called the stores in town, and it turned out that Kmart actually had them for sale! So I said to myself "Screw EB. I'm going to go get one now, instead of when they say I can have one." So I went there and got a DS. But... they didn't have any games. So I went to the next town over to Target, and got Mario 64 DS, and Dr. Mario for GBA.

The DS, is HAWT. Seriously. I can't wait for more games for it from Nintendo (WARIOWARE!!!).

Seems like it would be a major pain to play Mario 64 without an analog stick. Does the digital control work as well?

It does, most of the games have the option to play with both D pads rather than the touch screen

i was planning on getting one. I like how it looks and I've played my friends DS and i really liked it. I just don't like how nintendo keeps coming out with new handhelds that i feel obligated to spend my money on lol

I got my DS on the day of the launch here in the US with out pre-ordering it! I kinda of felt bad that I got it before people that actually pre-ordered it and didnt get their copies (and now have to wait until the next batch of DS'). I managed to also buy the last copy of Mario64 DS. A guy had picked it up before i got to it and I was about to be bummed out lol then i saw him put it back down and i got it quick! I just finished the game, but I will be playing it some more in order to get the 150 stars. I have yet to play it with the touch pad only, I think it might be a little ackward to play it like that but ill give it a shot sometime.
