NM Hunting and the Law on Dimishing Return

Well no offense but with the exception of a few you are kind of camping some pretty crappy NMs for the most part.

Stroper Chyme isn't an NM either.

Neither is Spook or Crypt Ghost, but I put them in anyways ^^

And yeah, I know. Most of those are from when I was a nooblet. :oops: Now I camp stuff with atleast 200k drop >.>

My record is less than desirable, so ya I hate NMs.
 
It really depends on the NM, and your skill. There is nothing more boring and monotonous then spamming ws at lizzy's rock to not even get the claim. Yet, if you can spam and get the claim a few times in a row its alot more fun. Hoo is my favorite, and not juist because i have the best drop record with him, but because of the way you camp him. He has a pretty small area so I voke camp him instead of Wide Scan, and there is nothing more exciting then knowing he's about to spawn and voking right as it pops in front of someone else. Even when you don't get the drop. Gustaberg has driven me crazy multiple times, Giddeus has not because i like that style better. Jaggedy, even though is crappy as hell with the drop (as Phraust can atest too) isn't too bad either.
It depends on the item that I have to get. I bought Mist Silk Cape and Mary's Horn and will probably end up buying an Emperor's Hairpin. At the time I was camping Lizzy the gil for boots was not really conceivably possible for me to make at the time, so I decided to camp him until I got the boots and only took about 8 times. So if its an expensive item, out of your means, than I'd camp it for a while if you are fairl good at getting the claim etc. Otherwise, I'd farm/craft/etc. Also, I camp Hoo nowadays sometimes to make money to buy other NM drops where I don't want to deal with the competition or the NM is too high of a level for my thf. Ie my thf is 40 and could take Empy now but it would be better to do it with th2, so for now I'll buy the Pin and when I have Th2 I'll go back and camp it for money.

Wasnt his area expanded in one of the previous maps. Is he still a voke needing NM or a WS one now?
 
I hate camping NMs, and rarely do it. The only ones I don't mind camping so much are the ones that aren't worth it (because there's no competition; I suck at claiming things when there is competition >.>). Here's my record so far:

Leaping Lizzy: 0/1 (found her once as a level 17 THF with no sub, and was sooo lucky to claim her; she spawned further south than she usually does)
Spook: 1/1
Spiny Spipi: 1/1 (wandered by and claimed it; wasn't camping)
Tom Tit Tat: 0/2 (both times happened across him)
Stray Mary: 0/1 (happened across her, too)
Tumbling Truffle: 1/2
Panzer Percival: 0/1 (happened across him, wasn't camping)
Bloodpool Vorax: 0/4 (all 4 times with TH2, too >.> at least I was just farming in the area, not really camping him)
Bomb King: 0/1
Helldiver: 1/1
Buburimboo: 1/1
Trickster Kinetix: 0/1
Lich C Magnus: 0/1
Mimas: 1/3 (I love that guy, it's hilarious watching him do Hundred Fists with that huge great axe XD)
Ashmaker Gotblut: 0/1 (got a Hermit's Wand, but that doesn't count >.>)
Vuu Puqu the Beguiler: 1/1

Think that's about it...
 
i'm currently 0/3 in ve and currently going insanse cause i magically find the times when noone is camping it and all i get are insect wings.

as a matter of fact due to all the whining there is no more spam NMs that are worth a shit.

Argus - changed
Hoo - changed
Mee- changed

all of them still can be claimed with the spam technique but they are not guaranteed AT ALL to pop in their normal spot so no one ever does anymore.
