NO FLAMEBOARD

I know everybody will not like this, and the popularity of this whole forum is BASED on that board (which when you think of it is sickening).

But I think having a flame board only makes fighting and creates animosity toward more people than it fixes.

This is the DRAW to this website because its the sole reason I came here and was drawn to here in the first place. Namely MY NAME being on this board and wanting to defend myself.

However... Even though I was drawn in by the flameboard, I have stayed here not because of it, but because of the many other things that happen here. So while not having a flameboard might make alot more peace, alot of people might not come here if it went away.

So I dunno..... but just thought I'd throw the idea out here. Maybe it should be moderated better? Have everyone stay on topic or something?

Hmm, while I can understand where your coming from about not wanting a flameboard, I really don't see why it needs to be removed.

In any online game, there's always going to be trash-talking/insulting, etc. The flameboard is just there to direct it all in one place.

While I understand that the board should be moderated better, it's tough to keep track with all the new posts, and honestly, I really don't want to leave the task to anyone. I tend to read a decent amount of the posts there, but some simply don't interest me enough to keep checking them and seeing if they go offtrack.

Best thing I can say is for people to remember some of the rules. Basically anything promoting piracy is not permitted, and anything dealing with real life issues or personal info has no real place on a FFXI board.

Other than that, I'll see if I can keep a better eye on it, like trying to keep things on topic.
 
Or you can make another mod or two.. :wink:
 
i DO love the whole basic principle here but if you took away their place to vent it'd spill out all over...
 
It's funny he wrote this, click on his profile and check where his posts are, they are all in flameboard lol.
 
lol, but he's the cool guy who puts that mature intelligent comment in that makes everyone feel childish and petty... i respect that.
 
Its human nature, better to confine it to the flameboard then get rid of it and have it in general discussion.
 
I agree not to remove the board. Keep all the shit aimed at the toilet and off the floor.
Besides, Id have nothing to do at work. :arrow: 8)
