I am surprised that there have not been any leaks as to whether any new jobs will accompany Bluemage. I assume the new jobs would have to be in the beta. It makes me think that we might only get 1 new job with the expansion coming soon. Anyone have any solid information or solid hints at any additional new jobs coming? By now there should be some.
Thanks, Foofighter

the demo doesn't contain anything related to the new expansion, only FFXI, CoP and Zilart

That'd be really cheap if there's only one new job released. Then I wouldn't be too much in a rush to buy this expansion. The only thing that could get me in a rush to buy this expansion is if Time Mage is possibly one of the new jobs released.

SE has already said there will be more than 1 new job, just no hint of anything whatsoever.

MIMIC AF! BONDAGEMASK <3

I really dunno what else they have to add asides Geomancer. Doubt something like Necromancer would happen just because Square hasn't added a new job to the FF series post-FFT.

Calculator?

Yesh, bring forth the Mimic job. That would friggen rawk.

They could potentially do Time Mage, Geomancer, Chemist, among others, TIM would get haste/slow earlier than WHM, could also get Haste/Slow 2, Chemist doesn't have to interfere with alchemy craft, their potions could be EX, who knows, but yea the 360 beta only has RotZ and CoP, nothin to do with ToAU.

Yea, but it's SE. Enough said, sides I think it'd be stupid doin new jobs that haven't been in any FF, they already have a history of past FF jobs to draw upon, also I'd rather not see a Necro job in this...ever

Time Mage = RDM... Fast Cast, Haste, Slow, Stun for the most part... If they make a TIM like they did in FF-Tactics, I'd be one, no doubt. Bind, Stun, Stop, Haste, Haste II, Hastega, Slow, Slow II, Slowga, Meteor (/drool)
Geomancer would be nice, but probably wouldn't be too much different than BLU and BLM. They can manipulate the overall chemistry of the world... whoopty-doo. They'd just be another enfeebler, I'd bet.
Chemist would be amazing. This game needs another healer job. I could see them being the "Ninja" of White Mages; using smaller items or something and turning them into spells. Not so much Potions, because that's Alchemist already.

Nah TIM aren't RDM, majority of those spells(Stun RDM don't have at all) WHM also have(and WHM get Haste 8 lvls b4 RDM). Like I said before, TIM could get Haste/Slow earlier than RDM/WHM, and they could also get access to Hastega, Haste 2 Slow 2 and multitudes of other spells. Hell their 2hr could have something to do with Time, such as resetting the pts 2hrs(minus the Time Mage's). As for Geomancer, I heard if it was added it would be a tank based job, using elemental shields to reduce damage received. Of course there would be a catalyst item to cast any Geomagic, like Ninjitsu tools, so my thought is the elemental anima that Alchemists make, but there appears to be no real uses for it, it also stacks to 99, like Ninja tools. Would also add more cash flow into Alchemist's pockets, making animas for Geomancers. I also came upon this thread, about jobs that have never been playable in past FF's becoming a new job in this, and I feel the same way, so I'll post an excerpt from that thread(not my post)

~Call me a FF purist, but I think the biggest mistake people make when talking about FFXI and speculating on what will appear next, is that instead of comparing it to other MMO's and wishing for jobs from totally unrelated games, it's probably a better idea to look to other FF's. FFXI is still a Final Fantasy game afterall. Just because it's an MMO, doesn't mean all the rules go out the window.

This isn't an attack on anyone praying for a Necromancer to appear or anything. I'm just saying, jobs like that don't have a place (historically, not logically) in Final Fantasy.

I think something like Mystic Knight from FFV would be cool, like RDM but with more melee stats and lines of Enspell->Enspell 2->Enspell 3's, with an A+ in Swords and, say, an A- or B+ in Great Swords (but no access to Spinning Slash, of course). I'd probably play that.

Chemist would be great, it really would be like the NIN of healing. It'd maybe use 99-stackable potions that would be relatively equivalent to cures and buffs, but balancing Chemist with WHM might be slightly difficult. Remember, MP Regeneration is a premium in FFXI. Ninjas are so effective because they don't need MP to cast their spells, and thus eliminate downtime. If Chemist is introduced and is too powerful, we would see a shift in players' attitudes from WHM->Chemist analogous to PLD->NIN, in terms of "elitist" XP/hr attitudes. I could see Chemist being fantastic to replace WHM in the case of no Refresh, but with Refresh present, WHM should ALWAYS be better than Chemist. At least, in theory.

We could also get a Dancer that is more for Debuffing. Basically a Bard but with dances that affect the mob, rather than the party. Right now, Bard does have spells that affect mobs, but they are very limited - Slow, DoT, Sleep, and Elemental Weakness. I could see a Dancer doing dances that give effects like Evasion Down, Accuracy Down, Defense Down, Attack Down, etc.

They have to be careful with giving jobs spells earlier that are on the subjob border Lv38-40 area. Because if TIM got Haste earlier then WHM then it would most definitely be subbable by all jobs.

Depends, 38-39 no, still earlier, sides a NIN would rather sub WHM for haste when they're tanking instead of WAR with added agi/eva when they alrdy have a RDM/BRD/WHM in pt for haste/march? It would help soloing that's really it, and if it was lower lvl, it wouldn't matter til 65-70 range on the main job, and whoever has it could help the WHM, or RDM with Haste duty. Or they could make it same lvls, 40 for WHM, cept give Haste 2 at 65-75 range, and Slow 2 40+.

I agree - PIRATE! lol

If Blue Mage is designed properly, I think it'll be that 3rd healing/refresh job that everyone seems to need (ever spent 20 minutes putting a pty together and then waiting an additional hour to find an RDM or BRD?). Personally, I think that's the only change that needs to be made to the job system. There are already three tanks (WAR, PLD, NIN), two other support classes (RDM, BRD), two other healing classes (WHM, SMN when not DDing or supporting), and far too many DDs.

What the new expansion needs to add, IMO, is another soloing class that's not a pain in the neck to play (sorry BSTs, I flagged it, and just don't like it). and another dedicated nuking class. Blue mage will probably also fill the role of the latter (a true jack-of-all-trades) but as for another soloing class, I have no idea how they could do it w/o unbalancing the game. Exp mobs are designed to be taken on by parties (compare your HP with that of an equal level mob). A new soloing class would have to be *very* badass stat-wise, or they would have to have some kind of exp boost job trait that allows them to level off of EPs and DCs.

I'd also like to see a DD with an A+ rating in swords. There are some nice DD swords out there that never get used because the job has better weapons (WARs have axes, THFs have daggers, and DRKs have scythes and greatswords).

From what you guys are saying, Time Mage is a combo of a Red Mage and a Bard minus the refreshing skills. It's not plausible. Hastega = March from a Bard, and Slowga(?) I wouldn't know an instance to use Slowga in an experience party. You'd get your party killed if there were nearby monsters from a -ga spell. They should just give Red Mage stronger enfeeble spells since Red Mages' Slow (20~25%) versus a Bard's Elegy(50%+) looses by a mile. An Alchemist takes up too much time and gathering together items will cost a bundle of money. Who would want to pay money to play a White Mage Job? :P

Currently: 2 Refresher Jobs, brd, rdm (In which 99% of people would prefer a Bard.)
Currently: 3 Tanking Jobs, pld, war, nin (Most Warriors dislike tanking though.)
Currently: 8 Damage Jobs, sam, mnk, drg, drk, rng, blm, thf (Including Black Mage as a DD.)
Currently: 2 Solo Jobs, bst, smn (Summoner doesn't seem to solo as well at lower levels.)
Currently: 1 Healer Job, whm (But a rdm/whm, smn/whm, or blm/whm can work okay, maybe even a Tarutaru brd/whm, but you'll be lacking important -na spells and barspells, also high level Raise spells.)

If there is a Time Mage and they got Slow II, Haste II, Stun, Stop & etc. NIN + BRD + TIM would be like super trio. That would be kinda too powerful I think. Thou NIN + BRD is kinda too powerful already.
